<br />1 <br />1 <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />FALCON HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA <br />JANUARY 24, 1974 <br />13 <br />A regular meeting of the Falcon Heights City Council was called to order by Mayor <br />Warkentien at 7:35 P.M. <br />Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen F31ack and Ecklund, and PRESENT <br />Councilwoman Stocker. Also present were Clerk-Adminis- <br />trator Barnes, Engineer Lemberg and Attorney Keaefick. <br />Councilman Steele due to business. ABSENT <br />Councilman Ecklund moved, seconded by Councilman Black, APPOINR~III~ITS <br />to approve Mayor Warkentien's appointmenrt of Mrs. Geraldine PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Jenkins, 2252 Folwell Street to the Falcon Heights Planning <br />Commission for a term of three years, said term to expire <br />on December 31, 1976. Motion unanimously carried. <br />Mayor Warkeatien moved, seconded by Councilwoman Stocker, HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION <br />to approve the appointment of Mrs. Sue Wyckoff, 1834 <br />Arona Avenue to the Falcon Heights Human Rights Commission <br />for a term of three years, said term to expire on <br />December 31, 1976. Motion unanimously carried. <br />Mr. and Mrs. Richard Brown, 1546 Crawford Avenue, were <br />present to discuss the water runoff from the Falcon Heights <br />Municipal Liquor Store paxking lot into their yard and <br />the basement of their home. They were seeking settlement <br />for items damaged by water due to the raised elevation <br />of the Liquor Sty re pa~3cing lot, in the amount of $65.00. <br />The Council reminded the Brown's of the Engineer's <br />survey conducted on August g, 1873, which is on file in <br />the Clerk's office. Mayor Warkentien again requested <br />that the gown's submit the damaged articles for the <br />inspection of the Gounail as requested at an earlier <br />date. Mrs. Brown stated that she no longer had them. <br />She was also unable to give the Council the date that <br />the damages occurred. <br />The Brown's stated that they had consulted with an <br />attorney and an appraiser, and have been told that the <br />valuation of their home had dimiehed because of the <br />problems they have had. <br />No action was taken on the matter. <br />Mr. James Loughrey, 1859 Simpson Avenue, was present at <br />the meeting to request that there be some communication <br />between the Council, Ramsey County Highway Department and. <br />the residents of the City concerning snowplowing.
