AB ,SE1`1T A recess was called from 8:01 to 8:16 P.M. to listen to President ?~3ixon's speech. Councilman Steele moved, seconded by Councilman Eclclund, T•'TINUrES to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of July 25, 197, as corrected. P4otion carried. I•Tayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilman Labalestra, to table consideration of the minutes of the meeting of July 1, 1~7t~, unti7_ the City Attorney can determine if a. resolution is necessary in support of the denial of the request by hlr. Alfred Hermes for rezoning of his property on Larpenteur Avenue. T%:otion carried. ~~ Councilman Steele moved, seconded by Councilman Labalestra, CIGA1ETTE LICENSE - A]Et•' to approve the new Cigarette License for Clark's Sub- marine Sandwiches, Inc., 1670 I~I. Snelling Avenue, for the period of July 1, 1971 to June 30, 1975. Motion carried. Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilman Labalestra, CIGARETTE LICEN`~ - RENEfrdAL to aon rove the Cigarette License renewal by Ted Steichen, of Candyland in the State Fairgrounds, for the period of July 1, 1971 to June 30, 1975. Motion carried. Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilman Labalestra, TREE TRIP:1c7IDIG LICE1`1SE RENEt^TALS to approve the general corporate licenses for tree trimming to Kelm's Tree Servie:e and Steven's Landscaping, for the period of July 1, 19?1~ to June 30, 1975. Motion carried. Clerk-Administrator Barnes was authorized to write to IIr. Ray Schwarzrock, concerning his request to sell helium balloons during the State Fair. The Council stated that Nir. Schwarzrock is to submit in writing a request for a specific location and also to get permission from the T~Iinnesota State Fair Board to sell balloons outside of the gates, or any other property owner. Clerk-Administrator Barnes was directed to write to T~Tr. Steve Reiter, 17i~6 Dt. Fry, who requested the Council to reconsider its ordinance pertaining to front yard parking. Mr. Barnes wa.s authorized to explain to I~ir. Reiter that at the present time there is not sufficient reason to amend the ordinance, and to also enclose a copy of said ordinance.
