MEETING OF JANiTA1~Y 9, 1968 <br />283t~ <br />The regular meeting of January 9, 1969 was called to order with the following <br />members present: Mayor Wa,~kentien, Councilmen Ecklund, Stone and Black, and <br />Clerk Strandquist. Also present was Attorney Seed, Engineer Lemberg and Treasurer Olsen.•~ <br /> <br />I <br />NFinutes: Ecklund moved, Stone seconded that the minutes of the meeting <br />of December 26, 1968 be approved as corrected. Motion was <br />unanimously carried. <br />Oaths of Office <br />Councilman The oath of office was administered by Clerk Strandqust to <br />Ecklund: Norman Ecklund, re-elected Councilman of Falcon Heights. <br />Justice of the The oath of office was administered by Clerk Strandquist to <br />Peace Noonan: newly elected Justice of the Peace, D. Nb.chael Noonan. <br />Clerk Taylor: The oath of office was administered by Clerk Strandquist to <br />James W. Taylor, newly elected Clerk. <br />Appointments for <br />Year of 1969: <br />Official Warkentien moved, seconded by Taylor that the Sun Newspaper <br />Newspaper: be retained as the official legal newspaper for the year 1969. <br />Motion was carried. <br />Attorneys: Stone moved, seconded by Ecklund that the firm of Briggs and Morgan, <br />represented by Peter H. Seed, be retained as village attorneys. <br />Motion was carried. <br />Engineers: Black moved, seconded by Ecklund that the firm of Bonestroo, Rosene, <br />Anderlik & Associates, Inc., represented by Bra~.ord Lemberg, be <br />retained as Pillage engineers. .Motion was carried. <br />Building Black moved, seconded by Ecklund that Richard K. Magnuson be <br />Inspector: retained as building inspector. Mot~bon was carried. <br />Civil Defense ; ''``tidarkentien appointed Henry Dachtera as Civil Defense Director <br />Director: at a salary of $50.00 a month and Tr1rs. Dachtera as assistant <br />without salary for the year 1969, contingent upon councilmembers <br />confirmation of same. Stone moved, seconded by Ecklund that the <br />appointment be confirmed. Motion was carried. <br />Gas Inspector: Stone moved, seconded by Black that Frank B. Eha be retained as <br />village gas inspector. Motion was carried. <br />T~deed Inspector: Ecklund moved, seconded by Taylor that Kenneth Quarn be re-appointed <br />weed inspector for the year. 1969. Motion was carried. <br />Animal Control: Black moved, seconded by Mayor 1~~arkentien that the B & E Patrol, Inc. <br />be retained to furnish anianal control services. Motion was carried. <br />Acting Mayor: Warkentien moved, seconded by Taylor that Charles P. Stone be <br />appointed Acting Mayor to conduct duties of the mayor in the event <br />Mayor Waxkentien is absent. T~Iotion was carried. <br />Deputy Clerk &. Upon request of Village Clerk and Village Treasurer, Stone moved, <br />Deputy Treasurer: seconded by Black that theClerk and Treasurer be authorized to <br />appoint Maureen McMullen as Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. <br />Motion was carried. <br />
