2817 <br />T~ETING OF FEBRUARY 13, 1969 <br />The regular meeting of February 13, 1969 was called to order at 7:00 P.M. with the <br />following members present: Mayor Warkentien, Clerk Taylor, Councilmen Stone, Black <br />and 'Lcklund. Also present ..:were Attorney Galvin, Treasurer Olsen and Engineer Lemberg. <br />Minutes: 1~7arkentien moved, seconded by Stone that the minutes reflect today's <br />receipt of the October 10, 1968 minutes from the former Deputy <br />Clerk and that these are the last of the rrri.tzutes which were <br />being completed by Mrs. Vavoulis. T~Iotion was carried. <br />Stone moved, seconded by ~°~arkentien that the minutes of the <br />Meeting of January 23, 1969 be accepted as corrected. Motion carra.ed. <br />Application for Black advised that the application for a sign consisting of 3b0 <br />Variance from square feet from Robert Blomberg, 153 N. Hamline, was approved <br />R. Blomberg at by the Planning Commission. He moved that the Council approve <br />1583 N. Hamline: the construction of said sign. Stone seconded. .Motion was carried. <br />Application for Black also advised the Council that the application for a variance <br />Var~nce from for the same type of sign as mentioned above with a square footage <br />Clarence Schiller, os' ~.UB had been approved by the Planning Commission. He, therefore, <br />1579 N. Hamline: moved approval. of the variance. ,Stone seconded the motion. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Flashing Sign at The Village has a flashing sign at Mango Photo and Black moved <br />Mando Photo: that the Council write a letter to Mango telling them that the <br />sign is contrary to Ordinance bta.. The Council was reminded, <br />however, of the same types of signs.througnout the Village <br />which have been operating for some time without notification <br />to the owners. Black withdrew his motion noting that further <br />investigation wil.~ be made as to how man;,r signs of this type <br />are now in operation within the Village. <br />Application for Mr, .Marvin Day submitted an application for a building permit <br />Variance from for a pedestal sign to be constructed for the Pizza Hut at <br />Pizza Hut for 1650 N. Snelling. It is the standard sign for the t'ranchise. <br />Sign: The lighting is 100% ~-thy-n and the sign does not flash or rotate. <br />The application for. variance requests: <br />1. Height of sign to be 28' - Ordinance reads 251 <br />2. Square footage of sign 1251 - Ordinance requires limits of 100' <br />3. Setbaclc from service road 20 to 251 - Ordinance requires 30T <br />Black has talked to the Chairman and two otner members of the <br />Planzii.ng Commission and they have indicated that they axe in favor <br />of the 125' square footage and the snorter setback. Black moved <br />tnat the application for the variance, along with the application <br />for the building permit and the plans, be submitted to the Falcon <br />Heights Planning Commission. Ed~lund seconded. Motion carried. <br />Reimbursement of Stone moved, seconded by Taylor, that the Council authorize reimburse- <br />.Fee to Deputy ment to Maureen Mc~tullen,.Deputy Clerk, in the amount of $213.75, <br />Clerk: for the fee she paid for her position with the Village. This <br />reimbursement was agreed upon at the time of her employment. <br />I~Totion carried unanimously. <br />
