2878 <br />R~JGULAR MEETING OF APRIL 10, 1969 <br />The regular meeting of April l0, 1969 was called to order by Councilman Stone <br />due to the temporary absence of Mayor Warkentien. The following members were <br />present: Clerk Taylor, Councilmen Stone and Black. <br />Cigarette Clerk Taylor read an application for cigarette license for <br />License: Borgstrom~s Pharmacy, 1583 North Hemline. Stone moved it <br />be granted, seconded by Black. Motion carried. <br />Stump Removals: A request to have a stump removed from the boulevard at <br />136l~ and 1365 136t~ California, also one across the street at 1365 Cali- <br />California: forma, was read by Taylor. Stone moved that the North- <br />land Tree Service be contacted to remove these stumps. <br />Taylor seconded. Motion carried. <br />Dog Licenses: It was reported that not as many dog licenses have been <br />issued as heretofor. The deadline for registration of <br />dogs was April 1, 1969. This should be shown in the minutes <br />and published in the newspaper. <br />Recess: At this point a recess was declared. Business resumed at <br />the entrance of Treasurer Olsen, Councilman Ecklund, and <br />Attorney Seed. <br />Minutes: Black moved, Stone seconded, the approval of the minutes <br />of the meeting of March 26, 1969 as corrected. Motion was <br />carried. <br />Incinerator Taylor read a complaint of a village resident that the in- <br />Screen: cinerator at Larpenteur and Fairview Apartments does not <br />have an effective screen. The matter will be referred to <br />Inspector Bert Slama. <br />Inspector Ecklund reported that someone i.n the area is posing as <br />Identity: Inspector Slama. All_ residents should be alerted. <br />Government Bond Clerk Taylor read a letter from G. R. Janssen, Vice-Pres- <br />Information ident of Falcon Heights Bank. Enclosed were copies of <br />From Falcon Heights pledges for various U. S. Government bonds totaling $98,000 <br />Bank: par value. Another one for an addit3:onal $100,000 U.S. <br />Treasury Bond, 6-3/8~ due May 15, 1970. This means there <br />is a total of $238,000 U. S. Governmment bonds pledged as <br />colateral against deposits here. <br />Bid for Reflect Clerk Taylor read an annoucement of opening of bids for <br />orized Street approximately 336 reflectorized street signs. Only one company <br />Signs: submitted a bid - Gopher Stamp and Die Company, Chicago and <br />Custer, St. Paul. The bid was for $789.60. Signs to be <br />delivered in 30 days-after acceptance. The representative <br />from Gopher Stamp and Die Company suggested that a different <br />size be used. After discussion, Black moved, seconded by Taylor <br />that the bids be accepted subject to the Council selecting <br />colors at a later date. Motion carried. <br />
