MEETING OF MAY 8, 1969 <br />288l~ <br />The regular meeting of May 8, 1969 was called to order at 7:00 P.M. with the <br />following members present: Mayor Warkentien, Clerk Taylor, Councilmen Black, <br />and Ecklund. Also present were Attorney Seed, Treasurer Olsen, and Engineer <br />Lemberg. <br />Minutes: Ecklund moved, Taylor seconded approval of the April 2I~, 1969 <br />minutes as corrected. Motion Carried. <br />Mowing of the West Mayor moved and Black seconded that we employ Tom Harkness to <br />Falcon Woods Play- do the lawn mowing on the West Falcon Woods Playground at X1.25 <br />grounds: per hour. Motion carried. <br />Falcon Heights Chief Helbig notified the Council that the following men were <br />Election of elected on May 6, 1969: <br />Firemen <br /> Chief - Albert Helbig <br /> Asst Chief s - Henry Dachtera <br /> r~obert Luey <br /> Captains - Jerome Renchin <br /> Gerald Baden <br /> Lieutenants - Gordon Nelson <br /> ~lonald Peterson <br />Letter from Letter was read dated April 29, 1969 from Dept. of Public Works. <br />St. Paul Dept. It was decided to refer the letter to the Engineer and Attorney <br />of Public Works: for contract review and recommendation. <br />Caution Sign Discussion was held on Caution sign for Mrs. Gennaro, 1771 Lindig <br />for Lindig: Avenue, on Lindig. It was stated that it would be ineffective to <br /> put up a caution sign as there is very little traffic on this <br /> street and any habitual offenders may be reported to the Sheriff's <br /> Office. <br />Load Limits: Letter was read dated May 5, 1969 from County Auditor, Thomas J. <br /> Kelley, regarding load limits. It was noted that load limits <br /> would be lifted effective May 9, 1969 at 12:01 P.M. <br />Carl Pearson, The Financial Statement of 1968 was presented to the Council by <br />Auditor: Carl Pearson of C. Pearson and Company. It was noted that Carl <br /> Pearson, Treasurer Olsen, and Clerk Taylor had read and discussed <br /> the statement prior to the Council meeting and no discrepancies <br /> had been found. Taylor moved, seconded by Warkentien that the <br /> Financial Statement covering the calendar year 1968 be accepted <br /> as presented and be published in the official Village paper. <br /> Motion carried. <br />Blight Violation: Mr. and Mrs. Hermes, 1755 St. Mary's were present to request that <br /> the garbage at 1715 St. Mary's be picked up at least twice a month. <br /> Mrs. Hermes also complained about the disappearance of their fire <br /> wood. There is also some question about the legal number of boarders <br /> living in a one-family dwelling. The Attorney stated that more than <br /> two boarders, not related by blood, is a violation. The Village <br />would be unable to take action unless it could be given that there <br /> has been a direct violation of the Zoning Ordinance. <br />
