28 MEETING OF MAY 28, 1970 The regular meeting of May 28, 1970 was called to order at 7:00 P.M. with the following members present: Clerk Taylor, Councilmen Black, Ecklund and Stone. Also present was Treasurer Olseal,. Engineer Lemberg arrived at 7:20, Attorney Seed at 7:~0 and Maylir Warkentien at 8:15 P.M. Minutes: Black moved that the minutes of the meeting o~ May 11~, 1970 be approved as corrected. Ecklund seconded and the motion carried. F3.re Department Ecklund moved that authorization be given to the Fire Purchase Department to purchase items on purchase requisition No. Requisition: 1-1970. Black seconded and the motion carried. Variance Request - Black moved that the variance and conditional use appli- 1870 North Albert: cations submitted by R. W. Brast, 1870 North Albert Street, for an accessory building to be constructed on the south east corner of his property, be approved in accordance with the diagram as drawn with the condition that the ex- treme height be 6 feet 8 inches and subject to the further condition that written approval be obta3.ned from the three ad3oining property owners. Stone seconded and the motion carried. Variance Request - Black moved that the application for a variance submitted Lido Corporation, by J. A. Labale, Vies President of the Lido Corporation, loll West Larpenteur: 1611 West Larpenteur Avenue, be approved to permit the pre- sent sign on the property to be moved to a location on the parking lat so that no part of the sign wi.11 extend further to the south than 25 feet north of the curb line. It is also moved that the portion of the applkcation requesting the flashing sign be denied. Taylor seconded and the motion carried. Jorgenson, Arden Hills Investment 1830 West Larpenteur, Company, has made an application for a variance and condi- Resolution 70-10: tional use permit to construct an 18 unit apartment build- ing on pzvperty located at 1830 West B,arpenteur Avenue, which property is zoned B-lA, with a side yard set-back of 4 f eet instead of 10 f eet, a square foot density of 25, 818 square feet instead of 27,000 square feet (1,500 per dwe11.- ing unit), and parking lots wane of which are less than 9 feet wide and 20 feet long, all of which standards are re- quired by the Village of Falcon Heights zoning ordinance No. 6l~, as amended, and WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Pillage of Falcon Heights referred said request for a variance and conditional use permit to the Village Engineer and the Planning Commis- sion of the Village of Falcon Heights, and said Planning Commission recoamnended denial of said variance and condi- tional use permit by reports dated May 20, 1970 and May 27,
