28 <br />MEETING OF MAY 28, 1970 <br />The regular meeting of May 28, 1970 was called to order at 7:00 P.M. with the <br />following members present: Clerk Taylor, Councilmen Black, Ecklund and Stone. <br />Also present was Treasurer Olseal,. Engineer Lemberg arrived at 7:20, Attorney <br />Seed at 7:~0 and Maylir Warkentien at 8:15 P.M. <br />Minutes: Black moved that the minutes of the meeting o~ May 11~, <br />1970 be approved as corrected. Ecklund seconded and the <br />motion carried. <br />F3.re Department Ecklund moved that authorization be given to the Fire <br />Purchase Department to purchase items on purchase requisition No. <br />Requisition: 1-1970. Black seconded and the motion carried. <br />Variance Request - Black moved that the variance and conditional use appli- <br />1870 North Albert: cations submitted by R. W. Brast, 1870 North Albert Street, <br />for an accessory building to be constructed on the south <br />east corner of his property, be approved in accordance <br />with the diagram as drawn with the condition that the ex- <br />treme height be 6 feet 8 inches and subject to the further <br />condition that written approval be obta3.ned from the three <br />ad3oining property owners. Stone seconded and the motion <br />carried. <br />Variance Request - Black moved that the application for a variance submitted <br />Lido Corporation, by J. A. Labale, Vies President of the Lido Corporation, <br />loll West Larpenteur: 1611 West Larpenteur Avenue, be approved to permit the pre- <br />sent sign on the property to be moved to a location on the <br />parking lat so that no part of the sign wi.11 extend further <br />to the south than 25 feet north of the curb line. It is also <br />moved that the portion of the applkcation requesting the <br />flashing sign be denied. Taylor seconded and the motion <br />carried. <br />Variance and Black moved that the following resolution be adopted: <br />Conditional Use <br />Permit Denied - WHERF,AS, Arthur 3. Jorgenson, Arden Hills Investment <br />1830 West Larpenteur, Company, has made an application for a variance and condi- <br />Resolution 70-10: tional use permit to construct an 18 unit apartment build- <br />ing on pzvperty located at 1830 West B,arpenteur Avenue, <br />which property is zoned B-lA, with a side yard set-back of <br />4 f eet instead of 10 f eet, a square foot density of 25, 818 <br />square feet instead of 27,000 square feet (1,500 per dwe11.- <br />ing unit), and parking lots wane of which are less than 9 <br />feet wide and 20 feet long, all of which standards are re- <br />quired by the Village of Falcon Heights zoning ordinance <br />No. 6l~, as amended, and <br />WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Pillage of Falcon <br />Heights referred said request for a variance and conditional <br />use permit to the Village Engineer and the Planning Commis- <br />sion of the Village of Falcon Heights, and said Planning <br />Commission recoamnended denial of said variance and condi- <br />tional use permit by reports dated May 20, 1970 and May 27, <br />
