19lt3 <br />REGULAR MEETING OF JUNE 26, 1963 <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. with the following members being <br />present: Harold Nilsen, Mayor; George Shavor, Trustee; Charles P. Stone, <br />Trustee; Willis Warkentien, Trustee. Also present were Brad Lemberg, Engineer; <br />Attorney Bernard Friel; William E. Olsen, Treasurer; and Tina Vavoulis, Deputy <br />Clerk. Clerk W. A. Mortenson was absent. <br />Representing the League of Women Voters of Falcon Heights was Mrs. Jenkins, <br />Nilsen moved, seconded by Stone that the minutes of the special meeting of June 19, <br />1963 be accepted as read. All ayes. <br />Fire Department Requi- Nilsen moved, Shavor seconded to approve Purchase <br />sition for Supplies: Requisition submitted by Fire Department for janitor <br />supplies for rest rooms i.n fire station & village hall. <br />County Commissioner asks Letter from Sheriff's Department stated they do not have <br />for assistancefrom Police sufficient manpower to answer calls about Ramsey County <br />Department: beaches and parks on complaints of late swimmers, vandal- <br />ism, etc., and asked the Village for cooperation in <br />policing these recreational areas. <br />Sheriff's Letter about Sheriff advised that the department will allow no <br />Gambling: gambling in Ramsey County. People have assumed that <br />being sponsored by a club, lodge, religious or fraternal <br />organization allows them the privilege of gambling, but <br />such is not the case. <br />Licenses approved: Gasoline filling station license from Hermes at the <br />State Fair Car Wash. Stone moved, seconded by Shavor <br />to approve. Carried. <br />Off-sale ~c On-sale Beer Licenses for Flaherty Bowling <br />Lanes. Warkenti.en moved, Nilsen seconded to approv®. <br />Carried. <br />Off sale and On-Sale Beer Licenses for Lido Cafe, Inc. <br />Warkentien moved, Shavor seconded to approve. Carried. <br />Schommer's Swimming Council was advised that children have been swimming in <br />Pools the display pool. The Deputy Glerk was instructed to <br />inquire as to whether or not the purifier was in operation <br />at all times. <br />Traffic Problem on Stone moved, Shavor seconded that pending adoption of <br />St. I~Iary's and Maple the necessary corrective ordinance, the Council authorize <br />Knolls the Village Engineer to take whatever steps are necessary <br />to see that 'No through traffic' signs are installed on <br />Fry, Garden, St. Mary's for the purpose of prohibiting <br />through traffic in this area. Carried. <br />Citizens' Recreational Warkentien moved, Shavor seconded that the appointment <br />Advisory Committee: of the following citizens to this Committee be approved. <br />Carried unanimously. <br />Leonard Harkness Larry Stowe William Korstad <br />Rev. w.
