1976 <br /> REGULAR MEETING OF AUGUST 28, 1963 <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. with the folla-~ing members being <br />present: Harold Nilsen, Mayor; W. A Mortensen, Clerk; Charles P. Stone, <br />Willis Warkentien, Trustees. Also present were Attorney M. J. Galvin, Jr., <br />Engineer Bradford Lemberg, Treasurer William E. Olsen, and Deputy Clerk Tina <br />Vavoulis. Absent: Trustee George J. Shaver. <br />Stone moved, seconded by Warkentien that the minutes of the special meeting of <br />July 15 be approved. Carried. <br />Stone moved., seconded by Nilsen that theminutes of the special meeting of August <br />19, 1963 be approved. Carried. <br />Resignation of setter from Edwin A. Johnson tendering his resignation <br />Edwin A. Johnson, because he is moving out of the Village was read. <br />Justice of the Peaces Nilsen moved, seconded by Stone that resignation <br /> effective September 1st be accepted for the reasons <br /> given in Mr. Johnson's letter. Carried. <br />Appointment of Justice After discussion, Mayor Nils en moved, seconded by <br />of the Peace: Mortensen and it was unanimously carried that Attorney <br /> Drain L. Jones, 18l~6 Arena hereby be appointed as <br /> Justice of Peace for the Village of Falcon Heights tv <br /> serve out the remainder of the term of Edwin A, Johnson <br /> commencing September 1st, 1963 and that the Village Clerk <br /> will arrange for a bond. <br /> Clerk Mortensen administered the oath of office to <br /> the new Justice of the Peace. <br />Fiscal Agent -- - <br />Preliminary Plan for Robert Sander of Juran and Moody presented a Preliminary <br />Refinancing Sewer Plan for Refinancing - Sewer Improvement Debt. It was <br />Improvement Debts agreed that he would again appear before the Council at <br /> the regular meeting scheduled for September 11 and will <br /> have the plan worked out and refined. He requested <br /> authority to call the Clerk or Attorney if anything <br /> unforeseen happens to affect the plan more than a few <br />' dollars, and was advised that if this should occur, a <br /> special meeting of the Council could be arranged immediately. <br />Financing of 1963 Engineer Lemberg gave the following estimates: <br />Watermain and Sewer Resurfacing contract to be let out next spring <br />Improvements: $17,000. <br /> Total contract cost 1 3,8' <br /> Engineering fees on the two 8,964 <br /> Legal fees 1,t~39 <br /> Hydrant posts, tie rods, etc. 18l~ <br /> Service tappings 5,010 <br /> fit.
