2060 <br />REGULAR MEETING OF FEBRUARY 12, 196lt <br />The regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Falcon Heights <br />was called to order at 7s00 P.M. with the following members presents Mayor <br />Harold Nilsen, Clerk W, A. Mortensen, Trustees Willis Warkentien, Charles <br />Stone, and William Black. Also present were Treasurer William E. Olsen, <br />Engineer Bradford Lemberg, Attorney Michael Galvin, and Deputy Clerk Tina <br />Vavoulis. <br />Mrs. Sara Lynn Avery and Mrs. Maureen Thomas of Unit No. 3 of the League of <br />Women Voters were present. <br />Minutes of the meeting of January 22 were reviewed. Warkentien moved that <br />the minutes be approved, Nilsen seconded, and duly carried. <br />Correspondences <br />Ramsey County League This organization advised of a meeting scheduled for <br />of Municipalities February 19, also meetings scheduled for February 13, <br />Meeting: Mortensen will represent the Village at the meeting on <br />the 19th. <br />No, States Power Co. Letter of January 29 advised that a decrease of 0.6 <br />Reduction in rates per Mcf will be made in general service gas rates to <br />become effective January 27, 196l~. <br />Letter of February 11 advised that lower rates for <br />electricity will become effective March 2, 196l~. <br />League of Minnesota Nominations for the C, C, Ludwig Award for the year <br />Municipalitiesa 1963 were requested. <br />Minn. Society for Letter advised that the National Society is holding a <br />Crippled Children: drive for funds in March. The National is not connected <br />with the Minnesota society and the general public should <br />be made aware of this fact. <br />Dutch Elm Disease Letter from Roger Conklin dated February 1D advised that <br />Training Courses Ramsey County Agricultural Agency ~ holding training <br />course was read. <br />Bert V, Marschke Mr. Marschke was present to obtain preliminary information <br />169 No. Cleveland Ave. as to dividing his lot at stated address into two parts, <br />and also to inquire as to obtaining city water and sewer, <br />Dividing his lots It was the Village Engineer's opinion that financially, <br />this undertaking would not be wise financially, inasmuch <br />as it would be a large investment, and inasmuch as the <br />University may consider expanding the golf course, which <br />is directly adjacent. <br />David A, McDonald Mr. McDonald's lot is now 75 feet wide and is situated <br />1879 West Larpenteur in a R-3 zone. He desired information from the Council <br />as to any suggestions they might have. It appears he <br />Zonings may some day be hemmed in on all sides by apartment <br />buildings, and his lot does not have the required 90 feet <br />width for a multiple dwelling. Council advised that <br />Lindig's lot adjoining his is only 75 feet wide also, and <br />that perhaps something could be agreed upon by consulting <br />Mr. Lindig, <br />
