222l~ <br />REGULAR PdEETING OF MARCH 2~., 1965 <br />The regular meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M, with the following <br />members present: Nilsen, Warkentien and Stone. Also present were Attorney <br />Galvin, Engineer Lemberg, Treasurer Olsen and Deputy Clerk T. Vavoulis. <br />Absent: Herbert Strandquist and William Black. <br />Dog Control: It was moved by Stone, seconded by Warkentien that the <br />Village Council adopt the following resolution regarding <br />the keeping of dogs within the Villages <br />WHEREAS, the Village of Falcon Heights has adopted an <br />Ordinance, the Registering and Regulating the Keeping of <br />Dogs - Ordinance No. 39, adopted in said Village April 11, <br />1956, and <br />WHEREAS under the provisions of Section 1!~ of said <br />Ordinance, the Falcon Heights Village Council is authorized <br />to enae~t a resolution prohibiting for a given time any and <br />all dogs from running at large in the Village, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that any and all dogs <br />are prohibited from running at large in the Village of Falcon <br />Heights from April lst to September 30th, 1965, inclusiv®. <br />A dog is deemed ~~at large't whenever it is off the <br />property of his owner or keeper and not under restraint. <br />Such dog shall be deemed under restraint only when it is <br />controlled by a leash not exceeding six feet in length, or <br />it is at "heel's beside a competent person having custody of <br />him and obedient to that person's commands, or within a <br />vehicle being driven or pushed on a public street within <br />the property limits of his owner's premises. An unattended <br />dog on the property of another, without the consent of such <br />property owner is "at large" and not under restraint, even <br />though he is on a leash. <br />Upon a vote being taken, the foregoing resolution was adopted <br />this 2l~th day of March. <br />Truck - Delivery Nilsen moved, seconded by Warkentien that a communication be <br />& Maintenances directed to the Division Manager of the Ford Company regarding <br />the long waiting period before delivery and the apparent <br />neglect of following through with the order once it was <br />placed with the Midway Ford Company. Motion was carried. <br />Nilsen moved the adoption of the following resolution: <br />BE IT RESOLVED that as a matter of proper care of Village <br />equipment, the following be observed: <br />1. The Maintenance Man, Kenneth Quarn, shall be <br />instructed to park the new truck on the straight back stall <br />when he is putting the truck away after .each day's work. <br />2. The Fire Department employees shall see to it that <br />the truck is not removed and remains garaged overnight. <br />
