232l~ <br />REGULAR MEETING OF DECEMBER 22, 1965 <br />The regular meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. with the following <br />members present: Mayor Nilsen, Clerk Strandquist, Trustees Black, Warkentien <br />and Stone. Also present were Treasurer Olsen, Engineer Lemberg, and Attorney <br />Galvin. <br />Minutes: Strandquist moved, seconded. by Black that the minutes <br />of the regular meeting of December 8, 1965 be approved. <br />Motion carried. <br />Stone moved, seconded by Nilsen that the minutes of the <br />Canvassing Board Meeting of December 8, 1965 be approved. <br />Motion carried. <br />Correspondence: <br />Clerk Strandquist read Notice of Public Hearing on <br />Water Pollution Establishment of Future Water Use Classifications and <br />Control Standards of Water Quality and Purity for All Waters of <br />Commissions the State to be held beginning January 5, 1966 and <br />continuing January 19, February 2 and February 16 and <br />March 2, 196b. Same was dated November 2, 1965 and signed <br />by R.N. Barr, M. D., Secretary of the Water Pollution <br />Control Commission. <br />Licenses: <br />Christmas Tree Having met the requirements, it was moved by Warkentien, <br />Lot: seconded by Black that Hermes Floral be granted license <br />to operate a Christmas Tree Lot at 2001 West Larpenteur <br />Avenues Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried, <br />Master Plumber: Having met the requirements, it was moved by Black, <br />seconded by Stone that A. Walter Avoles of Avoles Plumbing <br />be granted Master Plumber's license. Ayes: All. Nays: <br />None. Motion carried. <br />Kenneth Quarn Upon request of the Council, Village Maintenance Man Kenneth <br />Maintenance Quarn appeared before the Council and discussion was held <br />Department: regarding skating rinks and general maintenance. <br />Tom Thumb Food Mr. James Langer, manager of the Tom Thumb Food Market <br />Market - sales of stated he has complete responsibility of operations at this <br />beer: market. Warkentien reviewed the police file as regards <br />violations of selling beer to minors. There was considerable <br />discussion regarding same. The council requested Mr. Langer <br />to place signs stating that persons under 21 years of age <br />are not allowed to purchase bear. <br />Inasmuch as it appears in the record that two violations <br />have thus far occurred, any further violation of this will <br />result in cancellation or revocation of the license issued <br />for sale of non-intoxicating malt liquors to Tom Thumb <br />Food Market. <br />Village Clerk was instructed to write a letter to owners <br />of Tom Thumb Food Market in care of Herbert Koch, Vice <br />
