23Wi <br />REGULAR MEETING MARCH 9, 1966 <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />The regular meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. with the following members <br />presents Mayor Harold Nilsen, Trustees Warkentien, Stone and Black. Absents <br />Clerk Strandquist. Also present were Treasurer Olsen, Engineer Lemberg and <br />Attorney Galvin. <br />Minutes: Stone moved, seconded by Black that the minutes of the <br />meeting of February 23 be approved. Motion was carried. <br />Letter dated January 26, 1966 from Peter McGough, <br />W. Falcon Heights President of the West Falcon Heights Playground Associatiq~, <br />Playgrounds addressed to Kenneth Quern, maintenance department, <br />expressed thanks for the fine fob done in keeping skating <br />rink and warming house in excellent condition. <br />Correspondence <br />Falcon Heights State Letter of March 8, 1966 from D. F. Weager, Cashier of the <br />Bank Bonds Pledged Falcon Heights State Bank was reviewed. It stated the <br />to Villages amount of bonds pledgedto the Village totalled X168,000 <br />and advised that all village accounts are considered as <br />one account and insured accordingly. <br />Application for Stone moved, seconded by Warkentien that the application <br />Employment -Volunteer for employment submitted by Victor Vainovsk3.s be grant®d <br />Fire Departments upon condition that applicant is found to be in good <br />health of ter a physical examination and also subject to <br />the six-month probation period. Ayes: All. Nayss None. <br />Motion was carried. <br />Donald Arndt - Donald Arndt, Police Commissioner was present and reviewed <br />Police Commissioners activities in the Police Department for the month of <br />February. <br />Water problem in Lindig Mr. and Mrs. Gennaro of 1771 Lindig Street were Aresent <br />Streets regarding water that collects bettyeen the houses. Dis- <br />cussion was held. Engineer Lemberg will review suggestions <br />made and the council will make further investigation to <br />help remedy the undesirable water condition. <br />Civil Defense - Purchase Upon request of Paul Loomis and Donald Pantzar, Civil <br />Requisitions Defense Directors, Stone moved, seconded by Nilsen that <br />the Village Clerk be authorized to purchase one !~-drawer <br />letter filing cabinet to be used by civil defense directors. <br />Ayes: A11. Nays: None. Motion was carried. <br />Larpenteur B~anor, Inc. The following four persons revi~red with the council plans <br />Killmer Nursery for 120 unit apartment buildings .Albert Rubinger, Fresi- <br />Property Proposed dent Larpenteur Manor, Inc., Harry Goemann, Mel Gittleman, <br />Apartment Buildings; and Ken Nordby, architect from the firm of Associated <br />Architects and Engineers, Inc. <br />After review, Black introduced the following resolution <br />and moved its adoptions <br />IiPHHEREAS, plans for proposed 120 unit apartment building <br />on the former Killmer Nurseries Property described as the <br />East 20 rods (330.0') of the N.W. 1/J.~ of the N.
