2i,25 <br />Regular Meeting of August 2~., 1966 <br />The regular meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.?~g. with the following <br />present: L~ayor Nilsen, Cle rk Strandquist, Councilmen Stone and Black. <br />Absent: Councilman Warkentien. Also present were Treasurer Olsen, <br />Attorney C.~alvin and Engineer Lemberg, <br />Minutes: Stone moved, seconded by Strandquist that the minutes <br />of the meeting of August 10, 1966 be approved. Ayes: <br />All. Nays: None. R~otion was carried. <br />Correspondence: <br />Northome Shopping Letter of August 12 from Northome Shopping Center, Inc. <br />Center: in *.-~art stated that plan for the area will be presented <br />as soon as settlement can be made with Northern States <br />Power Company. <br />Larpenteur & Letter dated August 10 from ~A Frustrated Motorist <br />Snelling made suggestions to ease the conditions at the inter- <br />Intersection: section of Larpenteur and Snelling Avenues. <br />Spiegler Apartments Stanley Schultz, 1725 Fry Street, was present regarding <br />Fry Street Turn- the proposed 'turn around between his residence and the <br />Around: Spiegler Apartment at 1717 Fry Street. Schultz objects <br /> to this location for such turn around inasmuch as head- <br /> lights of ears would shine directly into bedroom windows. <br /> He suggested placing it between the apartments at 1707 <br /> Fry and 1717 Fry Street. <br />Donald Arndt, Police Police Commissioner Donald Arndt submitted letter of <br />Commissioner Report: resignation from Police Officer Howard Jensen, who is <br /> resigning to accept position with the Village of <br />Resignation of Lauderdale. Stone moved, seconded by Strandquist <br />Police Officer that the Council accept resignation effective September <br />Howard Jensen: 1, 1966. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion was carried. <br />Regular report of Police Department activities was <br />reviewed. <br />Ruggles Avenue Jerome Beardsley, attorney, was present regarding the <br />Walkway: Ruggles Avenue Walkway and discussion was held regarding <br /> maintenance of same. L~Iayor Nilsen will appoint a ~. <br /> committee and instruct such committee as to the study'' <br /> they are to make. Beardsley wants action to alleviate <br /> the ill-feeling among residents that the walkway has <br /> created.. Nilsen moved, seconded by Stone that village <br /> attorney be instructed to examine responsibility with <br /> respect to the, maintenance of the walkway, whether there <br /> is responsibility on the part of the Village to maintain <br /> the walkway existing between Pascal and Holton at <br /> Ruggles and report at the meeting of August 31, 1966. <br /> Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion was carried. <br />Street Lighting Ron Vanelli of Northern States Power Company was present <br />' Propos als to review proposed contract with the council. After <br /> review, said contract (as corrected) was duly signed. <br /> by 7~,iayor and Clerk as per resolution adopted by the <br /> <br />
