2601 <br />REGULAR MEETING OF AUGUST 2l~, 1967 <br />The meeting was called to order at 7s00 P.M. with the following members present: <br />Mayor Nilsen, Clerk Strandquist, Councilmen Black and Warkentien. Absent: <br />Councilman Storie. Also present were Treasurer Olsen, Engineer Lemberg and <br />Attorney Kyle. <br />Minutes: Black moved, seconded by Warkentien that the minutes of the <br />meeting of August 10, 1967 be approved. Ayes: A11. Nays: <br />None. Motion was carried. <br />Correspondence <br />Northome Shopping D. 0. Julen, Secretary Northome Shopping Center, Inc., <br />Center, Inc.: in his .letter of August 11, 1967, in part, stated that the <br />parking areas will be improved in accord with the current <br />plan. <br />N.W. Be11 Northwestern Bell Telephone Companyts request for burie d <br />Telephone Company cable on Tatum Street was referred to Engineer Lemberg for <br />Buried Cables his recommendation. <br />League of Minn. Letter under date of July 31, 1967 from the League of <br />Municipalities Minnesota Municipalities included dues statement for year <br />Dues: 1967 to 1968. Black moved, seconded by Nilsen that the <br />Village of Falcon Heights continue its membership in said <br />League and dues in the amount of X290.00 be approved for <br />payment. Ayess Nilsen, Strandquist, Black and Warkentien. <br />Nays: None. Motion was carried. <br />Aids to Municipal Dean A. Lund, Executive Secretary of the Metropolitan <br />Salary Setting in Section of the League of Minnesota Municipalities in <br />the Twin City communication of"August 18 advised that now published is <br />Metropolitan Area: first edition of ~~Aids to Municipal Salary Setting in the <br />Twin City Metropolitan Area.~~ Volume contains information <br />concerning salaries being paid by private employers for <br />twenty-eight kinds of work. <br /> Plumber authorized to Having met the requirements, it was moved by Strandquist, <br /> work in Villages seconded by Black that Stanley V. Dvorak of Stants Plumbing <br /> , <br />7626 .Arthur Street N.E. Minneapolis be authorized to do <br /> plumbing work in this village. Ayes: All. Nayss None. <br /> Motion was carried. <br /> Sewer Installers Having met the requirements it was moved by Strandquist, <br /> Licenses seconded by Warkentien that M. F. Rivard of Rivard Plumbing <br /> and Heating be granted a Sewer Installer's License. Ayes: <br /> All. Nays: None. Motion was carried. <br /> Permanent Voter Strandquist stated he has obtained information on certain <br /> Registrations procedures to follow regarding registration of voters. <br /> Warkentien moved, seconded by Black that Clerk be authorized <br />to make necessary expenditures. of funds needed to set up <br /> permanent registration records. Ayes: Nilsen, Strandquist <br /> Black and Warkentien. Nays: None. Motion was carried. <br /> Falcon Heights Letter dated August 23 from Falcon Heights League of Women <br /> League of Women Voters President, Mrs. Robert L. Jones, stated that said <br /> Voters: League would like to offer aid to the village in any way <br /> possible during upcoming voter registration pro3ect. <br />
