1573 <br />REGULAR MEETING MARCH 9, 1961. <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:00 P. M., the following Council Members <br />being present: Harold C. Nilsen Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; Willis <br />War~tien, Trustee and W. A. Mortenson, Clerk. Also present were Frank N. <br />Graham, Village Attorney, Wm. E. Olsen, Treasurer; Otto Bonestroo, Engineer; <br />and Ethel E. White, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. Absent= Paul L. <br />Coppini, Trustee. <br />The Minutes of February 23rd were approved as submitted. <br />Load Limit Clerk Mortenson reported all Village streets were posted for <br />three ton axle load limit. <br />Platting The Deputy Clerk was instructed to write the Platting <br />Commission, thanking them for the copy of the Lindig Plat; <br />and adv3.sing them that there are some things that must be <br />considered in accordance with our regulations and that the <br />plat had been referred to the Planning Commission. <br />Zoning, The Deputy Clerk was instructed to write Mr. Weigt informing <br />Ernest Weigt him that the Planning Commission concurs with the Council <br />Property that no rezoning should be done before the Zoning Plan is <br />completed and Public Hearings held. <br />Plumbing & <br />Sexer Licenses <br />Signs, Repair <br />Northome Shop. <br />Center <br />Clerk's Short <br />Course <br />Letter from Attorney Earl Anderson was read and filed. <br />Letter from Northome Shopping Center, Inc., requesting permit <br />to modernize and repair their signs was read and referred to <br />the Planning Commission. <br />It was moved by Nilsen, seconded by Shavor and unanimously <br />voted that Clerk W. A. Mortenson attend the Clerk's Short <br />Course and that his expenses be paid. <br />State fide It was moved by Warkentien, seconded by Nilsen and unanimously <br />Planning voted that the Village pay the expenses for as many members <br />Conference of the Planning Commission as find it possible to attend the <br />Statewide Planning Conference to be held at the University <br />of Minnesota, Monday, March 20th. <br />Tree Spraying Mr. Carpenter, Minnesota Tree Service, lt601 Excelsior Blvd. <br />was present. He estimated it would cost about 90¢ a tree to <br />spray the trees in Falcon Heights with a dormant oil spray <br />which should be done within the next 3 to 5 weeks, if found to <br />be necessary. The Deputy Clerk was instructed to call Dr. <br />Hard, Director of Plant Industry, University of Minnesota, for <br />his recommendation. <br />Traffic Wm. Broom, Garden and Asbury was present. He expressed his <br />Control concern over the number and speed of cars using Garden Street <br />as a "Thru-Highway" and suggested that "Stop" signs be placed <br />at closer intervals to make the street less attractive to <br />"Thru-Traffic". He was advised the Village would take a ~~~~ <br />traffic count and consult with the Ramsey County Safety Engineer. <br />
