Shavor, Trustee; Willis Vlarkentien, <br />Trustee; Vt. A. Mortenson, Clerk. Also present were Frank N. Graham, Village <br />Attorney, Brad Lemberg, Engineer, and Ethel E. ti`~ite, Deputy Clerk and Deputy <br />Treasurer. Absent: Paul Coppini, Trustee and V'lm. E. Olsen, Treasurer. <br />Arona The following resolution :^.~as introduced by Trustee V~farkentien <br />Avenue: who moved its adoption. <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING RrPORT ON IMPROVED,iEIv'T OF AROPIA AVENUE <br />BETdIEEN LARPENTEUR AVENUE AND CRAWFORD STREET BY RESURFACING <br />Ar1D CONSTRUCTIOPI OF CUR 3S AND GUTTER, FIXING THE TIME FOR <br />HEARING ON T}E PROPOSED IC~IPROVE~:RENTS, DIRECTING NOTICE THr~REOF, <br />APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AT1D ORDERING ADVERTISEh~ENT <br />FOR BIDS: <br />WHEREAS, the Village Council deems it necessary and expedient <br />that the Village of Falcon Heights improve Arona Avenue from <br />Larpenteur to Crawford by reconstruction, consisting of sub- <br />base, base and bituminous surfacing, and installation of storm <br />sewers and concrete curbs and gutters in accordance with the <br />preliminary plans and specifications prepared by Bonestroo, <br />Rosene and Associates, Inc., Village Engineers, and <br />PIHEREf~S, the`Council has been advised by said engineers that <br />the proposed improvements are feasible and should best be made <br />as proposed, and their report to this effect has heretofore <br />been received by the Council, and <br />V~iHEREAS, the statute provides that no such improvement shall <br />be made until the Council will have had a public hearing on <br />such improvements following two publications in the official <br />newspaper of a notice stating the time and place of the hearing, <br />the general nature of the improvements, the estimated cost <br />thereof and. the area proposed to be assessed, and <br />WHEREAS, the said engineers have prepared plans and specifica- <br />tions for the said improvements and have presented such plans <br />and specifications to the Council for approval, <br />NOW, 'THEREFORE, 3E IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the <br />Village of Falcon Heights, 1!4innesota: <br />1, The Council will consider the improvement of said street in <br />accordance with the report and the assessment of the abutting <br />property for a portion of the cost of the improvement pursuant <br />to Minnesota Stats, Secs. I~29.011 to 429.111 at an estimated <br />total cost of. the improvement of ?17,000.00. <br />2. A Public hearing shall be held on such proposed improvements <br />on the 22 day of June, 1951 in the Village Hall at 151,l~ West <br />Larpenteur Avenue, Falcon Heights, Minna ota at 8 P. M. and the <br />Clerk shall give public notice of such hearing and improvement <br />as required by law. <br />
