Motion carried unanimously. (See attached list)
MINUTES OF JANUARY 8, 1986 APPROVED
Ciernia moved, seconded by Baldwin, that the Minutes of January 8, 1986 be
approved. Motion carried unanimously.
The Clerk Administrator presented the following information obtained from the
Falcon Heights Deputies and Ramsey County Public Works: Deputies are opposed
to parking on Larpenteur due to the accident record at Fairview and Larpenteur,
indicated that the lack of adequate parking in the lot provided is
due in part to not-in-use vehicles, and that one resident of the apartments has
five or six vehicles; Ramsey County Public Works felt it would complicate snow
plowing in addition to being a poor visibility area. Council agreed that
parking should not be allowed, but that Mr. Asher be provided with the name of
the resident with extra vehicles in order that he may take action on the
matter.
REQUEST FROM FOREST ASHER, CARETAKER AT 1845-1855 LARPENTEUR, FOR PARKING ON
LARPENTEUR DENIED
PAT BUSH APPOINTED PART TIME RECREATION DIRECTOR
Ciernia reported that the Parks and Recreation Commission interviewed several
qualified applicants for the part time recreation director position, and
unanimously recommended the hiring of Pat Bush, 1853 Arona. Ciernia moved,
seconded by Baldwin, that Pat Bush be hired as recommended by the Commission.
Motion carried unanimously.
REQUEST FROM FRANK IRVING, 1745 TATUM, FOR REIMBURSEMENT FOR CAR REPAIR
INCURRED DURING TATUM STREET CONSTRUCTION
Frank Irving, 1745 Tatum, explained the circumstances leading to his letter of
October 22, 1985 requesting reimbursement for repair of his auto which was
damaged while being towed from the mud during construction of Tatum Street.
Council expressed concern that this might establish a precedent and discussed
determining responsibility (the contractor, city, or vehicle owner) the Pact
that the engineer authorized payment of towing charges during construction, and
this is not a unique situation, has occurred during other pro~eets.
