MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />JULY 9, 1986 <br /> <br />~~ <br />A regular meeting of the Falcon Heights City Council was called to order <br />at 7:00 P.M. by Baldwin. <br />PRESENT <br />All members present, Baldwin, Wallin, Hard, Ciernia, and Chenoweth. Also <br />present was Barnes. <br />ADDENDUM TO CONSENT AGENDA <br />Baldwin moved, seconded by Chenoweth, addition of the July 9, 1986 <br />Planning Commission Minutes to the Consent Agenda. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />Ciernia moved, seconded by Hard,°approval of the Consent Agenda. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />MINUTES OF JUNE 25, 1986 <br />Hard moved, seconded by Wallin, approval of the Minutes of June 25, 1986. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />VARIANCE GRANTID TO CRAIG SCHAUFFERT, 1885 N. SNELLING <br />Chenoweth moved, seconded by Wallin, approval of a variance request from <br />Craig Sehauffert, 1885 N. Snelling, to construct an extension to the <br />existing garage 5 Peet from the property line as recommended by the <br />Planning Commission. Motion carried unanimously. <br />VARIANCE GRANTED TO GERALD WALLIN, 1859 N. SNELLING, CONTINGENT UPON <br />UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA APPROVAL <br />Hard expressed concern that Wallin~s request to place a second garage not <br />less than one foot from the north property line was too close to <br />University property in the event the University land is ever developed. He <br />also felt run off Prom the garage roof would go onto the adjacent <br />property, and asked if the University had been made aware of the proposed <br />structure. Wallin explained he had chosen the site as the structure would <br />be least visible to the neighbors, and he anticipates placing it two to <br />three feet fra~m the property line. Following the discussion Chenoweth <br />moved, seconded by Ciernia, approval of the variance request contingent <br />upon unconditional approval by the University oP Minnesota. Upon a vote <br />being taken the following voted in favor thereof: Baldwin, Wallin, <br />Ciernia, and Chenoweth, and the following voted against the same: Hard. <br />Motion carried. <br />7:15 - PUBLIC HEARING ON SUBDIVISION REQUEST FROM SPING LIN, 1785 <br />FAIRVIEW, AND IRENE MACGREGOR, 1795 FAIRVIEW - CONTINUID TO 8/13/86, 7:15 <br />P.M. <br />Baldwin opened the public hearing on subdivision requests from Sping Lin, <br />1785 Fairview, and Irene MacGregor, 1795 Fairview, at 7:15 P.M., presented <br />the Affidavit of Publication, and explained it is not possible to go <br />forward with the hearing as the matter has not been heard by the Planning <br />Commission, and the petitioners have been unable to resolve the purchase <br />of the one foot of land which is necessary for installing improvements to <br />~~ <br />
