<br />Taxi Cab Arthur M. Olson, 411Q Banfil Street, St Paul, appeared beBore the
<br />Servioe council in conneotion with his application to provide a taxi cab
<br />service within the Pillage area bordered by Rowelawn, Hemline and
<br />Fairview. After discussion, the matter, including a proposed
<br />ordinance, was referred to Attorney Graham.
<br />Licensing A proposed licensing ordinance was discussed, especially with
<br />Ordinance reference to bowling alleys, root beer stands, sale of Christmas
<br />proposed. trees, dry cleaning establishments, pop corn wagons and carnivals.
<br />The clerk will try to secure copies of licensing ordinances cover-
<br />ing the above from nearby villages.
<br />Fire Fire equipment items requested by the Fire Chief under date of
<br />Equipment January 3, 1951, was discussed. On motion by Stewart, seconded by
<br />Henry, the Fire Chief was authorized to purchase the following
<br />items on the list - 1 Chemox gas mask, 2 hand saws, 2 blanket rolls,
<br />1 battering ram, 2 20-ft. log chains, 1 sledge hammer, 2 fire blankets,
<br />1 first aid kit, 3 24" squeegees, 400 ft. 3~4" rope, 2 short-handled
<br />shovels, 4 sprinkler shut-offs, 2 mops. Possibility of seouring a
<br />filing cabinet for the Fire Department was also discussed.
