<br />Meeting called to order at 7:45 P.M. and minutes of August 12th meeting
<br />were heard and approved as read.

<br />On motion by Rekstad, seconded by Henry, the following bills were ordered

<br />Vacate Howard G. Grant, 1546 Crawford ®venue, appeared before the council
<br />alley and reported that a petition, dated August 16, 1952, signed by Howard
<br /> G, Grant and Nick B. Heber, had been filed with him, requesting the council
<br /> to vacate the platted alley between Lot 2 and Lots 3, 4 and 5, Keller's
<br /> Re-arrangement of Block 10 of Falcon weights Addition, pursuant to Sec.
<br /> 412.851 3d.°.A. Attorney Graham reported that the petition was sufficient.
<br /> On motion by Rekstad, seconded by Stewart, it was voted unanimously to set
<br /> the public hearing on the petition for Thursday, at 8:30 P.Ad., September 11,
<br /> 1952, at the Village Hall, 1644 West Larpenteur Avenue, and the clerk was
<br /> directed to publish and post notice as required by law.
<br />Council Due to the fact that the Primary Election will be held in the Village Hall
<br />meeting on Septemb er 9, 1952, Rekstad moved that the regular meeting of the council
<br />post- scheduled for the evening of Septemb er 9th be postponed until Thursday
<br />poned. evening, Septemb er 11, 1952, beginning a t 7;30 P.M. Seconded by Stewart
<br /> and motion carried unanimously.
<br />1953 Andrew Hustrulid, Chairman, Fire Department committee, spoke on matters
<br />Budget pertaining to the proposed Fire Department budget for 1953.
<br />Trash The Tdayor reported that the Village-owned trash can near the National
<br />can Tea Store, on the north side of Larpenteur, had been removed and damaged
<br />when the sidwalk was torn up in that area. Rekstad will check with the
<br />businessmen regarding this matter.
<br />Weeds Plans f or weed eradication were discussed.
<br />Public The Mayor stated he had word from Don Arnt, Chairman, Public Safety committee,
<br />Safety that while special police officer Earle Smith is on vacation that his duties
<br />will be assigned to special police officer James Waller.
