<br />Meeting called to order at 7:l-0 P. M., with roll call recording all council members
<br />present as follows: Robert E. Stenzinger, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; Andret+v
<br />Hustrulid, Trustee; David P. Cartwright, Trustee; Clyde J. Stewart, Clerk. Also
<br />present, 1~illiam E. Olsen, Treasurer, and Frank N. Graham, Attorney,
<br />University Letter of May 25, 195!1, from Mr. Leonard M. Sankstone, Engineer,
<br />request to Physical Plant Department, University of Minnesota, stating that '
<br />remove in connection with other improvements made necessary by changing ~
<br />trees over to buses for intercampus transportation, that the University
<br /> requested permission to remove four trees on Cleveland at Buford
<br /> and one tree at the northeast corner of Cleveland and Carter so
<br /> as to provide an increased corner radius at Cleveland and Carter
<br /> avenues. Trustee Hustrulid, who had discussed the matter with
<br /> Mr. Sankstone prior to our meeting, recommended that the request
<br /> be approved, especially from a safety standpoint,. Shavor then
<br /> moved that the request be granted with the understanding that
<br /> the Clerk notify Mr. Sankstone as to the council's action as soon
<br /> as possible. Seconded by Cartwright and motion carried unanimously.
<br />Protest parking A petition dated May 18, 19511 and signed by Mr. M. G. ?.?iller,
<br />trucks & car 13119 '~. California and 10 other persons, was read, requesting
<br />carriers, Falcon the council to take action to restrict the Falcon Oil Company,
<br />Oil service sta. 1350 Larpenteur Avenue 'Jest, and Oscar J. Husby, in connection
<br />- with using said property for daytime, overnight, and week-end
<br />parking of convoy trailers and trucks. After discussion, Stewart
<br />moved that Cartwright be appointed to call on the Falcon Oil
<br />Company people to see what ca.n be worked out regarding the
<br />situation complained of. Shavor seconded and motion carried unanimously.
<br />Protest resolution A petition dated May 18, 19511, bearing 20 signatures, as trans-
<br />against baseball mitted by Robert J. Moder, protesting the action of the council
<br />stadium on May 12, 19511 in adopting and sending to the Regents of the
<br />University a resolution opposing the erection of a baseball
<br />stadium within the Village, came up for consideration, After
<br />brief discussion, it was pointed out for recording that Mr.
<br />Moder is not a resident of the Village, that he is in the real
<br />estate business, and that the petition does not represent a
<br />
