<br />REGULAR MEETING, iPEDNESDAY, JANUARY 26, 1955
<br />Meeting called to order at 7:35 P.M., roll call recording the folloxing
<br />council members present: Robert E. Stenzinger, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee;
<br />Andrei Hustrulid, Trustee; Clyde J. Stewart, Clerk. Absents David P. Cartxright,
<br />Trustee. Also present: William E. Olsen, Treasurer, and Frank N. Graham,
<br />Attorney.
<br />Roof sign Mr. E.A.W. Peikert, of the General Outdoor Advertising Company,
<br />permit of Minneapolis, presented an application for building permit
<br /> and plans covering the proposed remodeling of Qti§ting roof
<br /> signs at 1550 W. Larpenteur Avenue. Building Inspector
<br /> Christensen said the proposed sign remodeling xould improve
<br /> appearances and recommended that the application be approved.
<br /> Hustrulid moved approval of said application, seconded by
<br /> Stenzinger and motion carried unanimously.
<br />Bingo Letter xas read from Mr. Paul W. Larson, Manager, St Paul
<br />permit Campus Union, University of Minnesota, requesting authority
<br /> on behalf of the St Paul Campus Union Board of Governors to
<br /> conduct a Bingo dame in the Student Union Social Center on the
<br /> St Paul Campus. Our attorney advised regarding state statutes
<br /> permitting religious, charitable, fraternal ~r dher associations,
<br /> not organized for pecuniary profit, to operate the game of bingo,
<br /> provided the governing body of the governmental subdivibn; in
<br /> xhich it is proposed to conduct such game does not pass a
<br /> resolution objecting thereto, Hustrulid then moved, seconded
<br /> by Stewart, that the Clerk be requested to xrite Mr. Larson,
<br /> stating that the Council has no objection to the St Paul Campus
<br /> Union Board of Governors conducting such a game. Mo+ion Carried
<br /> unanimously.
<br />M.G.Z. Hustrulid moved approval of Master Gas Installer's License No. 1t8,
<br />License #!t8 issued January 21, 1955 to the Tr~agle Heating, Inc. , 995 Arcade
<br /> Street, St Paul, for period Jan. 1, 1955 thru June 30, 1955, at
<br /> the license fee of ~13.uu. Seconded by Stenzinger and motion
<br /> carried unanimously.
<br />Regn. #!t8 covering 150 monthly report forms for the Treasurer, and one
<br /> used office chair for Fire department to replace one that is
<br /> broken, xas presented by the Clerk. Hustrulid moved approval
<br /> of said requisition, seconded by Stenzinger, and motion carried
<br /> unanimously.

<br />X150 remittance, The Clerk presented a check/in the amount of l~150.00, remittance
<br />Nor. States Power, Prom the Northern States Power Company in response to Village
<br />acct. damage to Engineer Carley's letter, advising that the alley behind the
<br />business block business property north of Y.arpenteur and east of Snelling
<br />alley. had been repaired by the Village, and that the installation of
<br /> the natural gas main in this alley xas the cause of damage
<br /> amounting to X150.00 of this expense. The Clerk reported
<br /> that the amour charged to the Village for this alley improvement
<br />~

<br />Village Clerk American Surety Company of New York bond of Clyde J. Stewart,
<br />bond. Village Clerk, to Village of Falcon Heights, in the amount of
<br /> $500.00 for two-year period expiring Jan. 1, 1957, xas ordered
<br /> approved on motion by Hustrulid, seconded by Shavor.
