s)J <br />REGULAR MEr,TING, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 1956 <br />Meeting called to order at 7:30 P.M., with the following council members present: <br />William R. Utecht, Mayor; Harold C. Nilsen, Trustee; and Clyde J. Stewart, Clerk - <br />David P. Cartwright, Trustee, arriving at 8:30 P.M. Absent: George J. Shavor, <br />Trustee. Also present - William E. Olsen, Treasurer and Frank N. Graham, Attorney. <br />Minutes of February 8, 1956 were heard and approved as read. <br />Minnesota Dope: of letter from the Minnesota Safety Council, dated February <br />Safety 13, 1956, relative to Don Arndt providing Mr. R. V. Juetten, <br />Council Assistant Secretary of the Minnesota Safety Council, with <br />information needed for completing the 6afety'_Council's annual <br />reports in connection with the various traffic safety contests <br />in which Falcon Heights participates, was read and ordered filed. <br />1 <br />Fire inspections, Letter dated February 15, 1956, from the Village of Lauderdale was read, <br />Lauderdale relative to fire inspection reports regarding the Currier Manufacturing <br /> Company and Pearley's Place being referred to Lauderdale's fire <br /> inspector, Mr. J. Langenberger, with instructions to inspect the <br /> properties and report on same to Falcon Heights. <br />Village The Clerk submitted proofs of the Village Financial Statement for <br />Financial the year ended December 31, 1955, to be published in The Rose Tribune. <br />Statement After discussion, Nilsen moved approval of said financial statement. <br /> Seconded by Utecht and motion carried unanimously. <br />Bills: On motion by Utecht, seconded by Nilseh, the following bills were <br /> ordered paid: <br /> Nick Christensen, fees, bldg. permits lt87 thru t~89, ~168.l~8 <br /> Minn, Envelope Co., printed letterheads & envelopes for Mayor, $19.00 <br /> H. & Val. Co., 300 ft. l~" Chevron d.j.fire hose, ~3l~5.00 <br />St Paul Chapter, American Red Cross, 10 Am.Red Cr. 1st aid text books,~6,00 <br />Variance Mr. Earl Horazdovsky, 1l~63 West Idaho, appeared before the council <br />request - in connection with his and Harold Horazdovsky's variance request <br />Horazdovsky on which the Village Planning Commission held a public hearing on <br />February 16, 1956. Mr. Horazdovsky was informed that the council <br />was awaiting a letter from the Planning Commission with the Commission's <br />findings and recommendations. <br />Automobile Paul Manke, President of the St Paul Customs Automobile Club, together <br />CluB to use with other members, appeared before the council to request use of <br />Village Hall the apartment meeting room in the Vil]~e Hall for meetings of the <br />Club, preferably on Monday evenings. Manke explained that the <br />C1utI consists of 15 teen age members who are interested in the care <br />and operation of automobiles, and especially in promoting safety and <br />courtesy in connection with driving. After discussion, Utecht moved <br />that the Club be allowed to hold meetings generally in the apartment <br />
