s s,~ <br />REGULAR MEETING, WEDNESDAY, MARCH 28, 1956 <br />Meeting called to order at 7:35 P.M•, all council members being present as follows: <br />William R. Utecht, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; David P. Cartwright, Trustee; <br />Harold C. Nilsen, Trustee; Clyde J. Stewart, Clerk. Also present - William E. Olsen, <br />Treasurer, and Frank N. Graham, Attorney <br />Minutes of regular meeting, March 14, 1956, and special meeting, March 22, 1956, were <br />heard and approved as read. <br />Books requested A letter was read from County Assessor Ronald V. Powers, relative. <br />for Board of to an instructional meeting for assessors scheduled for March <br />Review meeting 29, 1956, to which the council Was invited to send a representative. <br />After discussion, Cartwright moved that the Clerk Write the <br />County Assessor and request that the personal property and real <br />estate books be made available for a Board of Review meeting <br />some time between Juice 1 and July 15th. Seconded by Shavor and <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />Minnesota Benefit Letter was read from the Minnesota Benefit Association as to <br />Association 1955 state legislation permitting Villages to pay part or <br />all of the costs of group insurance for Village employees. <br />Stewart moved that the letter be referred to our attorney <br />for checking-and report. Seconded by Shavor and motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Underwriters on ~ A letter from the National Board of Fire Underwriters on <br />building inspection building inspection and fire hazards was read and referred <br />to Building Inspector Nick Christensen. <br />Bills: On motion by Shavor, seconded by Utecht, the following <br />bills were ordered paid: <br />Falcon Heights Hardware, ~ qts. paint,VH apt office, $7.13 <br />Nick Christensen, fees, permits l~90 thru 502, X213.84 <br />To1tz,King,Duvall, Anderson & Associates, sanitary sewer <br />engineering services, Jan. & Feb., X321.98 <br />Gen. Elec. Supply Co., light bulbs, lt.ll <br />Proposed Doi The proposed dog registration ordinance and suggested revisions <br />Registration ordi- were discussed. Justice of the Peace .Lloyd V. Riley was present. <br />nance and spoke favorably regarding the proposed ordinance. To inform <br />interested citizens, it was then agreed. to have the Village <br />attorney prepare a summary of the proposal for publication as <br />a-news item in the next issue of The Rose Tribune. <br />Maple Knoll Public Safety Supervisor Don Arndt reported that he and Officer <br />traffic check Earl Smith during the rush period on three evenings had checked <br />traffic on Maple Knoll drive because of motorists turning off <br />to avoid signal at Snelling and Larpenteur. Results of the check, <br />he said, did not warrant installing stop and go signs, but that <br />they would recommend installing of "Watch out for Children" <br />signs. Cartwright then moved that the Street Commissioner be <br />requested to order the installation of "Match out for Children" <br />signs - one at Fry street and Maple Knoll, one at St Marys and <br />Maple Knoll and one at Maple Knoll and Garden.. Seconded by <br />Nilsen and motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />
