<br />Meeting called to order at 7:30 P.I~4., the following council members being present:
<br />William R. Utecht, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; David P. Cartwright, Trustee;
<br />Harold C. Nilsen, Trustee; Clyde J. Stewart, Clerk. Also present - William E. Olsen,
<br />Treasurer, and Frank N. Graham, Attorney.
<br />Minutes of regular meeting, April 11, 1956, were heard and approved as read.
<br />F,D. Regn #78, Requisition No. 78, covering 20 subscriptions at X61.00 each
<br />Smoke-Eater for our Fire Department personnel to May 1957, to the Smoke-
<br />Eater publication, was considered, Utecht moved approval,
<br />seconded by Nilsen, and so ordered.
<br />Reqn. #79 covering handcuf€s and case requested by Public Safety department
<br />Handcuffs & as equipment needed by Officer Dachtera. Cartwright moved
<br />case ~ that the handcuffs and case be purchased as requested. Seconded
<br />by Utecht and so ordered.
<br />Noiiee to The Clerk read a notice to Falcon Heights dog owners regarding
<br />Falcon Heights the initial registration of dogs in Falcon Heights as required
<br />dog owners by Ordinance No. 39. The Clerk said it was proposed. to publish
<br />the notice in The Rose Tribune of April 26, 1956, subject to
<br />council approval. Cartwright moved that the council accept
<br />the notice as read. Seconded by Shavor and motion carried
<br />unanimously.
<br />Bills: On motion by Cartwright, seconded by Shavor, the following bills
<br />were ordered paid:
<br />Kenneth P. Shellum, remove skating rink planks,
<br />clean warming house, etc., $4.00
<br />St Paul Stamp Works, 200 dog tags and "S" links, 16.75
<br />Toltz,King,Duvall, Anderson ~ Associates, sanitary sewer
<br />engineering services, Warch, X67.52
<br />Recessed Meeting was recessed at 8:29 P.M.
<br />Resumed Meeting resumed at 9:15 P.M.
<br />Insurance The committee appointed to study Village insurance coverage,
<br />Committee consisting of Lynn Matteson, William Torgerson and W, A. Mortenson,
<br />reports appeared before the council. The committee's recommendation, as
<br />presented by Mr. Mortenson, was that the Villa ge arrange all of
<br />its insurance policies to expire on a common date and that the
<br />Village set up specifications for coverages and advertise for
<br />bids. After discussion, it was agreed that the common date for
<br />expiration of the policies would be August 1. The committee's
<br />report was accepted with thanks.
<br />5-yr old boy Fire Chief Grumke referring to a call received by the Fire Department
<br />reported setting on April 25, 195b, regarding a 5-year old boy lighting fires with
<br />fires. matches at 1382 West Larpenteur, presented a report from the
<br />deputy sheriff who investigated the matter, the deputy sheriff's
<br />report indicating that the parents and not the boy were at fault.
