X93 <br />REGULAR MEETING, THURSDAY, AUGUST 22, 1957 <br />Meeting called to order at 7:10 P.M., the following council members being present: <br />William R. Utecht, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; Harold C. Nilsen, Trustee; <br />Willis Warkentien, Trustee; Clyde J. Sterwart, Clerk. Also present: William E. <br />r Olsen, Treasurer; Frank N. Graham, Attorney. <br />Hearing - Minutes of August 8, 1957 xere ordered corrected to show on <br />Curbing page 885 the amount of the Deputy Village Treasurer's bond <br />Improvement to be $10,000. instead of ffi25,000. The said minutes xere <br />then approved as corrected. The minutes of August 15, 1957 <br />xere approved as submitted. <br />The Mayor declared the hearing open at 7:12 P.M., stating it <br />xas being held to consider the making of an improvement on <br />the North Side of Hoyt Avenue betNreen the Easterly line of <br />Lot 10, Hlock 9, Northome Second Addition, and the Westerly <br />line of Pascal Avenue, by the installation of curbing in <br />accord xith the notice published in The Rose Tribune. <br />Engineer's V. L. L~ungren, Village Engineer, reported that the engineer's <br />Report preliminary estimate indicates an approximate estimate of <br />l~3.85 per front foot of assessable property for the construction <br />of the proposed curbing improvement, including concrete curb <br />xithout gutter, a-catch basin and street repairs resulting <br />. from the curb construction. Total cost of the improvement xas <br />estimated at $3,650.00. <br />• H. N. Gammell, appeared do be the only petitioning property owner present. <br />1535 W. Hoyt The matter xas discussed xith Mr. Gammell xho indicated he <br />xas not authorized to speak for the other property oeners <br />concerned. <br />Hearing Shavor moved that the hearing be continued to September 12, <br />Continued 1957, and that the Clerk publishthe figures in The Rose <br />Tribune in order to publicise the amount of the assessment. <br />Seconded by Nilsen and motion carried unanimously. <br />L. Rosner, inquired and xas advised as to procedure for prepaying his <br />1362 W. Larpenteur sanitary sewer assessment on or before September 16, 1957 <br />and regarding payment of assessment subsequent to that date <br />xith interest. Mr. Rosner raised the point that his <br />assessment did not include street resurfacing as xas being <br />done on Iowa and Idaho Avenues. This and the proposed <br />xidening of Larpenteur Avenue x@pediscussed xath Mr. Rosner. <br />L. W. Lewis, Mr. Lewis inquired as to making house connection to the <br />135h W. Idaho sewer in the street. He xas informed that his area had <br />been approved for such connections and xas also informed <br />as to the procedure. <br />Sewer Assessment, Messrs. S.E. Anderson, 1930 Autumn and R.H. Rust, 1922 <br />lots, Falcon Wds. Autumn, xere informed that the sexer assessments on pie-shaped <br />Addition lots. in the Falcon Woods Addition xere figured in accord <br />xith assessment roll practices folloxed in the City of Saint <br />Paul. <br />
