BACKGROUND MEMO FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON MARCH 7, 2016 <br />D.1 February 1, 2016 City Council Meeting <br />D.2 February 8, 2016 Goal Setting Session <br />D.3 February 18, 2016 NE Metro Water Summit <br />DA February 20, 2016 Fire Department Annual Banquet <br />D.5 February 24, 2016 HBA Breakfast/State of the City Address <br />D.6 February 29, 2016 Washington County League of Local Government Meeting <br />Staff recommends Council approve the above minutes as presented. <br />F.1 Introduction of New Washington County Deputy Lee Mars <br />As of the beginning of 2016, there are three new deputies patrolling in Hugo. At its February 1, <br />2016 meeting, the Council was introduced to Deputy Scott Zitzloff . This evening, Deputy Lee <br />Mars will be in attendance, and Sergeant Wayne Johnson will introduce her to the Council. <br />F.2 North Memorial Annual Report — Forest Lake Region Manager Terry Nelson <br />At its June 15, 2015 meeting, Council approved a Memorandum of Understanding with North <br />Memorial Health Care for ambulance service in Hugo beginning on July 30, 2015. Forest Lake <br />Region Manager Terry Nelson will provide a report on their activities in Hugo. <br />F.3 Hugo Fire Department Annual Report — Fire Chief Kevin Colvard <br />Annually, the Hugo Fire Department provides an report to the Council highlighting activities of <br />the Department for the prior year. Fire Chief Kevin Colvard will report to the Council on <br />activities of the Fire Department during 2015. <br />G. 1 Approval of Claims <br />Staff recommends Council approve the Claims Roster as presented. <br />G. 2. Approve Performance Review for Building Department Secretary Debi Close <br />Debi Close was hired as the City's Building Department Receptionist on March 20, 2006. For <br />the past ten years, Debi has performed customer service duties both at the front counter and on <br />the telephone scheduling inspections with contractors. Debi also works as the secretary to the <br />Parks and Recreation Commission. Staff recommends Council approve the annual performance <br />review for Building Department Receptionist Debi Close. <br />G. 3 Approve City Council Focus Goals and Ongoing Priorities for 2016 <br />On February 8, 2016, the Council held its annual Goal Setting Session to review 2015 <br />accomplishments and set goals for the coming year. Staff has summarized these goals and is <br />recommending Council approve the 2016 Annual Focus Goals and Ongoing Priorities as <br />presented. <br />
