Another issue was the intersection of <br />Oneka Lake Boulevard and Geneva Avenue, and Kennedy stated that staff felt a more formal <br />crosswalk should be established with the project. He provided information on different types of <br />active warning devices that could be installed, which would be solar powered. Council generally <br />agreed that a system was needed at the intersection, and discussions need to be had with the <br />school busing provider. No formal action was taken. <br />Update on Yellow Ribbon Network <br />Council Members Chuck Haas and Phil Klein provided an update on activities of the Yellow <br />Ribbon Network to date. The International Guard 133rd Airlift Wing had requested help with <br />playground equipment. He thanked City Engineer Jay Kennedy and the Hugo Public Works <br />Department who connected them with other municipalities, but unfortunately they could not take <br />advantage of it. It is Girl Scout cookie packaging time, and they will be shipped next month. He <br />asked that addresses of military members be forward to the YRN if anyone would like a package <br />sent. <br />Lunch with Tom Emmer on Friday, April 1, 2016 <br />Administrative Intern Taylor Richter informed Council that the Forest Lake Area Chamber of <br />Commerce will host a lunch with Congressman Tom Emmer on Friday, April 1, 2016. The <br />event will be held at Stella's on 97 from 11:45 a.m. — 12:45 p.m. The Council stated they were <br />not available to attend. <br />Food Shelf Pasta Dinner on Saturday, April 2, 2016 <br />Administrative Intern Taylor Richter reminded Council that the Hugo Good Neighbors Food <br />Shelf will hold their 5th Annual Pasta Dinner to raise funds for the new Food Shelf building. The <br />dinner will be held at the Hugo American Legion on Saturday, April 2, 2016, from 6:00-9:00 <br />p.m. <br />Metro Cities Annual Meeting on Thursday, April 21, 2016 <br />Administrative Intern Taylor Richter informed Council that the Metro Cities will hold their <br />annual meeting on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the University Club, 420 Summit Avenue, St. <br />Paul. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a social hour, followed by a presentation on <br />elections by Professor David Schultz. <br />Petryk made motion, Klein seconded, to schedule a meeting to attend the Metro Cities Annual <br />Meeting on Thursday, April 21, 2016. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />
