Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for July 14, 2014 <br />Page 8 of 8 <br />Discussion on Veterans Administration Services <br />Washington County Board of Commissioners has sent a letter to Senator Amy Klobuchar <br />expressing disappointment in the level of service provided by the Veterans Administration <br />Health Care facilities. Haas brought this to the attention of the Council and suggested the City <br />draft a similar letter for signature by the Mayor. <br />Haas made motion, Klein seconded, to direct staff to draft a letter to our legislatures, including <br />Senator Al Franken, expressing similar views of the City Council. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Hugo Lions and HBA Golf Scramble on August 10, 2014 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear reminded the Council that the Hugo Lions and Hugo Business <br />Association will be sponsoring the Scramble at Oneka Ridge to be held on Sunday, August 10, <br />2014 at 8:30 at the Oneka Ridge Golf Course. This golf scramble is a benefit to raise money for <br />the Hugo Good Neighbors Food Shelf Building Fund. The Lions and HBA had invited the <br />Council to participate in the event. <br />LBAE Training at Washington County on September 24, 2014 <br />The Hugo City Council acts as the Local Board of Appeals and Equalization (LBAE). At least <br />one voting member of each LBAE must have attended a training course within the last four <br />years. Mayor Weidt and Council Members Petryk and Klein have training that expires on July 1, <br />2017. City Administrator Bryan Bear informed the Council that training will be held at <br />Washington County Government Center on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 6-9 p.m. if <br />anyone would like to attend. <br />Schedule Midyear Budget Review <br />Annually, the City Council schedules a mid -year budget review in order to allow the Council to <br />accept information from the Finance Department regarding the City's year-to-date finances as <br />well as to review some target objectives for the next year's budget. <br />Weidt made motion, Klein seconded, to schedule the mid -year budget workshop for August 19, <br />2014 at 7 p.m. <br />All Ayes.
