MINUTES FOR THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2014 <br />Mayor Weidt called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Bronk, Haas, Klein, Petryk, Weidt <br />ABSENT: None <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Bryan, Assistant City Attorney Josh Brekken, City <br />Engineer Jay Kennedy, and City Clerk Michele Lindau <br />Approval of Minutes for the October 4, 2014 Fire Department Open House <br />Haas made motion, Bronk seconded, to approve the minutes for the Fire Department Open <br />House on Saturday, October 4, 2014 as amended to mark Haas as absent. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Approval of Minutes for the October 6, 2014 City Council Meeting <br />Klein made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the minutes for the City Council meeting on <br />Monday, October 6, 2014 as presented. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Approval of the Agenda <br />Weidt made motion, Bronk seconded, to approve the agenda as amended by adding Connexus <br />Energy's donation to Hugo Good Neighbor Food under Council Presentations. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried <br />BearPower Proiect — Allison Zomer <br />Alli Zomer, Project Manager with HealthPartners/Children's Hospitals and Clinics, explained the <br />community movement to address obesity trends in the U.S. called BearPower. BearPower is a <br />program involving White Bear Lake Area Schools, including Oneka Elementary school, to <br />promote healthy eating and being active. Since 2013, parents, schools, community <br />organizations, local government officials, clinicians and local businesses have joined forces with <br />Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota and HealthPartners to create a healthier <br />environment for kids. BearPower works through partnerships, local events, and programs to <br />make it easier for kids to eat well and be active in all the places they live, learn and play. Alli <br />invited the City of Hugo to participate as a community partner. <br />Haas made motion, Bronk seconded, to direct staff to work with Alli to draft something with all <br />these points and present it at the next meeting for approval. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />
