Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for November 17, 2014 <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />stated that Hugo is a critical hub for the connection of trails to and from the surrounding <br />communities. <br />Weidt made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the Snowmobile Trail Applications for the <br />Hugo Snowmobile Club and Rice Creek Trail Association. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Update on Rice Lake Meadows Neighborhood Meeting on November 10, 2014 <br />On Monday, November 10, 2014, residents in the Rice Lake Meadows neighborhood attended a <br />meeting with Council and staff to discuss a potential street project. City Engineer Jay Kennedy <br />stated that the meeting was not very well attended due to the inclement weather. A decision had <br />been made to reschedule the meeting and revise the notice to residents to include more <br />information on the proposed project and proposed assessments. <br />Haas made motion, Klein seconded, to schedule another meeting of the residents in the Rice <br />Lake Meadows neighborhood for December 8, 2014 at 7 p.m. <br />Motion carried. <br />Approve Resignation of Tony Bronk from the Hugo City Council and Declare Vacancy <br />On November 13, 2014, Tony Bronk submitted his letter of resignation from the Hugo City <br />Council effective immediately. Bronk served as the Council Member at Large. City <br />Administrator Bryan Bear explained that State Statute requires Council approve a resolution <br />declaring a vacancy on the Council. Statute also requires an appointment be made to fill the <br />vacancy. The specific steps in the appointment process are not outlined in the statute, and Bear <br />provided some options for the Council to consider. <br />Weidt made motion, Klein seconded, to approve RESOLUTION 2014-39 ACCEPTING <br />RESIGNATION AND DECLARING A VACANCY ON THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Weidt made motion, Klein seconded, to direct staff to post the vacancy until December 5, 2014 <br />and schedule a workshop to conduct interviews on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 7 p.m. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Update on Yellow Ribbon Network <br />Council Member Chuck Haas and Council Member Phil Klein reported to Council on the Yellow <br />Ribbon Network activities held recently. A MN Packers Team held a packing event last Friday <br />night and Saturday. Since July of 2012 the YRN has packed and shipped over 700 packages to <br />the troops. Hamburger Night on November 26th will be sponsored by Thompson Reuters from 5- <br />9 p.m. At the December 15, 2014 Council meeting, all sponsors will be recognized. <br />
