MINUTES FOR THE I-35 W/E COALITION MEETING <br />THURSDAY, MARCH 7, 2013 <br />HUGO CITY HALL <br />PRESENT: Klein, Weidt <br />ABSENT: Bronk, Haas, Petryk <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Hugo: City Administrator Bryan Bear, Community Development Intern Liz Hanson <br />Centerville: City Administrator Dallas Larson <br />Forest Lake: Council Member Susan Young, City Engineer Ryan Goodman <br />Washington County: Ann Pung-Terwedo, Commissioner Fran Miron <br />Metropolitan Council: Sandy Rummel <br />Congress: Jessica Faust <br />Minnesota Department of Transportation: Wayne Norris, Brad Larsen <br />SRF Consulting: Todd Polum <br />Call to Order and Introductions <br />Mayor Weidt called the meeting to order and the attendees introduced themselves. <br />Update on I 35W Managed Lanes Study <br />Todd Polum, principal with SRF Consulting, provided an update on the I 35W Managed <br />Lanes Study. The study extends from downtown Minneapolis to Forest Lake. The <br />purpose of the study is to identify preferred managed lane concepts as well as <br />improvement strategies at spot locations along the corridor. <br />Discussion on Expansion of 35E MnPASS Study to CR 96 <br />Brad Larsen, Minnesota Department of Transportation, provided discussion points on the <br />Expansion of I 35E MnPASS Study to CR 96. This study will develop and evaluate <br />conceptual alternatives for extending MnPASS from Little Canada Road to CR 96 <br />through the remaining bottleneck on 1-35E north of I-694. The study is anticipated to <br />begin during late spring/early summer 2013 and be complete by late spring/early summer <br />2014. <br />Update on 35E Corridor Improvement Proiects <br />Wayne Norris, Minnesota Department of Transportation, provided an update on the I-35 <br />Corridor Improvement Projects. The projects will include pavement improvements, <br />bridge improvements, implementation of new park and rides, and a MnPASS expansion <br />along the I -35E corridor. These projects will range in dates from 2013 to 2016. <br />
