Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for May 20, 2013 Page 2 of 8 YRN were in attendance to accept the checks for the YRN and Soaring Eagles. The Council thanked them for the donation. WBL Chamber of Commerce Board Chair Scott Mueller and Executive Director Tom Snell Tom Snell, the new Executive Director of the White Bear Lake Area Chamber, and Board Chair Scott Mueller addressed the Hugo City Council to discuss the Chamber's vision for the future and their role on Economic Development issues facing the area. They explained the Chamber encompasses cities from Maplewood to Forest Lake. They talked about their involvement in the White Bear Lake Resolution Committee and their effort to engage the business community in water conservation. Scott talked about the Grow Minnesota initiative which is the Minnesota Chamber's business assistance program that will visit companies to talk about business expansion and retention. Council discussed with them the role the DNR and Met Council play in water conservation, and they talked about the increases in property taxes on business. Approval of the Consent Agenda Haas made motion, Klein seconded, to approve the following Consent Agenda items: Approval of Claims Approve Annual Performance Review for Public Works Worker Rick Kieffer Approve Pay Request No. 9 to Municipal Builders, Inc. for Well House No. 6 Approve Application for Water Surface Use Permit for David Strub on Sunset Lake Approve Advertisement for Community Development Intern Approve Minor Subdivision and Variance for 7131 132nd Street North Approve Washington County CSAH 4 Pavement Rehabilitation Approve Wetland Replacement Plan for Christ Lutheran Church Approve Application from the Hugo American Legion to Conduct Off -Site Gambling During Hugo Good Neighbor Days All Ayes. Motion carried. Approve Resignation of Firefighter Chris Schwanke Approve Leave of Absence for Firefighter Matt Richardson Approve Appointment of Jim Fordham as the New Safety Captain on the Fire Department Ayes: Haas, Klein, Petryk, Weidt Abstained: Bronk Motion carried.
