I-35 W/E Coalition Meeting on January 19, 2012 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />Rush Line Corridor <br />Washington County Senior Planner Ann Pung-Terwedo provided an update on the Rush <br />Line Corridor Project. Tom Weidt, Susan Young, and Tom Wilharber all serve on the <br />Rush Line Task Force. Pung-Terwedo explained that they are working on a commuter <br />coach service for Forest Lake, through Columbus, and eventually to St. Paul. They are <br />looking at options to extend the service and infrastructure. Park and Ride options at <br />CSAH 14 and County Rd E. <br />She updated the coalition on the Washington County Regional Rail Authority purchasing <br />a section in Hugo for a future trail connection to the Hardwood Creek Trail head. The <br />purchase is projected for 2012 but budgeted for 2013. <br />I -35W Managed Lane StudX <br />Kate Garwood, of Anoka County, explained the North I -35W managed lane study which <br />identifies improvement strategies and goals for the corridor. She explained that the <br />infrastructure elements are nearing the end of their useful life. <br />Miron asked the chances of adding an access point the I -35E and how the freeway would <br />handle it. Garwood explained the possible future connections and routes to the coalition. <br />Federal Transportation Bill <br />Representative from Congressman Bachmann's Office, Rachel Horn, updated the <br />Coalition on Federal Transportation Bills. She stated that they will continue to fund <br />projects at the current level and would support letters for projects and to contact <br />Bachmann's office. <br />Updates from Cities and Counties <br />Everyone gave updates on construction projects and future projects in their prospective <br />Cities and Counties. <br />Next Meeting Date <br />Members discussed scheduling the next meeting after a bill was drafted to possibly <br />support the I -35E MN Pass project.
