Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for January 23, 2012 <br />Page 5 of 10 <br />At its December 5, 2011 meeting, the Council approved the purchase of a new Ford 550 truck <br />and the advertisement to sell through the sealed bid process the 2001 Dodge Ram truck that has <br />been in the City's fleet since 2001. Staff received a high bid for $7,725, which staff feels is a <br />very good price for the vehicle. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the sale of the 2001 <br />Dodge Ram Truck to AJ Concrete, Inc. from Center City in the amount of $7, 725. <br />Approve Military Leave of Absence for Hugo Firefighter Nickolas Young <br />Hugo Firefighter Nickolas Young has been ordered to active duty by the United States Army. <br />Nickolas is a member of the Special Operations Unit and will be deployed to the Middle East for <br />a period up to 400 day. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved a Military Leave of Absence <br />for Firefighter Nickolas Young until March 4, 2013. <br />Approve Lawful Gambling Permit for Dan Smith Benefit on February 18, 2012 at the <br />Hugo American Legion <br />The Hugo American Legion Auxiliary has submitted an application for a Lawful Gambling <br />Exempt Permit for a benefit to be held for the family of Dan Smith, who passed away on <br />December 4, 2011 in his Hugo home. He was 35 years old, and left behind his wife and two <br />children. The benefit will be held at the Hugo American Legion, and the permit will allow raffle <br />tickets to be sold at the event. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the Lawful Gambling <br />Permit for the Dan Smith Benefit to be held at the American Legion on Saturday, February 18, <br />2012. <br />Approve Resignation of Firefighter John Marshall from the Hugo Fire Department <br />Hugo Firefighter John Marshall has submitted his letter of resignation from the Hugo Fire <br />Department citing the lack of availability to attend training classes. Adoption of the Consent <br />Agenda approved the letter of resignation from firefighter John Marshall. <br />Approve Modification of Duty Crew Scheduling and Point System for the Hugo Fire <br />Department <br />At its December 20, 2011 meeting, the Hugo Fire Department discussed the scheduling of the <br />Duty Crews and the Bonus Point System. It was the consensus of Fire Department members that <br />changes should be made to the current Duty Crew scheduling and Bonus Point System as outlined <br />in the Hugo Personnel Policy. The addition of two new firefighters allows for an additional duty <br />crew and changes to the scheduling will allow for each member to work one full weekend every <br />six weeks. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the changes to the Duty Crew scheduling <br />and Bonus Point System, and directed staff to make these changes to the City's Personnel Policy. <br />Approve Quote for Well No. 6 Observation Well from Thein Well <br />
