Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for August 20, 2012 <br />Page 6 of 7 <br />Haas made motion, Weidt seconded to accept staff's recommendation and direct the City <br />Attorney to take necessary action to abate the nuisance, after making one final attempt to gain <br />cooperation from the property owner. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Yellow Ribbon Network Update <br />Council Member Chuck Haas and Council Member Phil Klein reported to Council on the Yellow <br />Ribbon Network activities held recently. There will be a "Welcome Home" event for six military <br />families at this week's Hamburger Night at the Hugo Legion on Wednesday, August 22, 2012. The <br />ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. Council Member Haas congratulated the son of the City's Audio <br />Visual Technician Terri Hodges, who is a Marine and was married over the past weekend. The YRN <br />continues to receive "Thank yous" for care packages sent to military members overseas. The YRN <br />of Stillwater and Hugo will be partnering on the "Welcome Home Pheasant Hunt". Wildwings <br />Game Farm will be sponsoring this event. The City of Hugo has been invited to apply for the Sea of <br />Goodwill Award and will be working on the application next week. <br />Midyear Budget and Street CIP Meeting on Thursday, August 23, 2012 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear reminded the Council of the Midyear Budget and Street CIP <br />workshop to be held on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Hugo City Hall at 7 p.m. <br />Movie Night in the Park on Friday, September 14, 2012 <br />The Hugo Parks Department will be holding a Movie Night at the Hanifl Fields Athletic Park on <br />Friday, September 14, 2012. The movie will be "How to Eat Fried Worms" and will begin at <br />sunset (approximately 7:30 pm). Games will begin at 7:00 pm. This family event is free for all. <br />Tour de Hugo Bike Ride on Saturday, September 15, 2012 <br />The first Tour de Hugo Bike Ride event was held September, 2011 and was a huge success with over <br />60 riders participating. This year's event is scheduled for Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Hanifl <br />Fields Athletic Park. Several local businesses are supporting the community bike ride which features <br />5, 18, and 23 mile routes suitable for all ages and abilities. Lunch, activities and entertainment is <br />included in the cost of registration. Registration will be available at City Hall and online. <br />Shared Services Meeting on Thursday September 27, 2012 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear has been meeting with a group of Administrators from Hugo, Lino <br />Lakes, Centerville, Circle Pines, Columbus and Lexington for the purposes of discussing shared <br />services. The meetings are being held at the direction of the City Councils for each of the other <br />cities, and Hugo has recently been invited to attend. Once every six months, the group meets with <br />the mayor and one council member from each of the represented cities. Staff recommended that <br />Mayor Miron and one council member be selected to attend the meeting scheduled for Thursday, <br />September 27, 2012 at 5:30 pm at Lino Lakes City Hall. <br />
