Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for September 17, 2012 <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />Hugo Hoedown Saturday, September 22, 2012 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear provided a reminder that the Hugo Lions Club will hold their second <br />annual Hugo Hoedown Festival on Saturday, September 22, 2012. This event will include business <br />promos and a flea market/craft show to begin at 10 a.m. There will be many activities for families <br />including pony/hay rides, bean bag toss tournament, inflatables, food and beverages, DJ and country <br />band, as well as shows put on by the Cannon West Society. <br />Hazardous Waste Cleanup Saturday, September 29, 2012 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear provided a reminder that Washington County will hold a <br />Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event on Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 8 a.m. — <br />noon. Washington County Residents will be able to dispose of household hazardous waste free <br />of charge. This event will take place at the Hugo Public Works Department Building. <br />Cindy Petty, 13679 Fiona Avenue North, requested there be a prescription drug collection at the <br />next hazardous waste event. Staff will contact Washington County to see if this can be done. <br />Citywide Bus Tour Saturday, September 29, 2012 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear reminded council of the Annual Citywide Bus Tour scheduled for <br />Saturday, September 29, 2012. Participants will meet at the Hanifl Shelter for a 10 a.m. <br />departure and return to the shelter at approximately noon for a BBQ lunch. All Council <br />Members present stated they would be attending. <br />Candidate Forum Tuesday, October 2, 2012 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear informed the Council that the League of Women Voters will be <br />conducting the Candidate Forum on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Hugo City Hall. The forum <br />will begin at 7 pm with the Candidates for Washington County Districts 1 and 2. The Hugo <br />Mayor and Council Candidates are expected to be heard at approximately 8:15 p.m. <br />Petryk made motion, Klein seconded, to schedule this as a Council meeting to allow the <br />attendance of the Council at the candidate Forum on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Hugo City <br />Hall. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Hugo Fire Department Annual Open House Saturday, October 6, 2012 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear provided a reminder that the Hugo Fire Department will hold <br />their Annual Open House on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 11:00am - 3:00pm. This event will <br />take place at the Hugo Fire Hall, 5323 140th St. North, and will include the Fearless Firefighters <br />Fun Run and several children and adult activities. This event is being held to celebrate Fire <br />Prevention Week, which is October 7-13. <br />
