Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for January 18, 2011 <br />Page 5 of 6 <br />The Council inquired as to whether the results were available on other communities who had <br />conducted the well monitoring as part of the permitting process, and if those results could be <br />compared with Hugo's. The Council also discussed the sharing of data as it pertained to the <br />groundwater model that was being created with this data. <br />Miron made motion, Klein seconded, to direct Council Member Chuck Haas, who is a member <br />of the Metropolitan Council Water Advisory Board, and City Engineer Jay Kennedy to discuss <br />these issues with the Water Advisory Board at their meeting in April, 2011. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Schedule Date for EDA Commissioner Interviews <br />At its December 6, 2010 meeting, City Council accepted the letter of resignation from Brian <br />Thistle from the City's of Hugo Economic Development Authority who was not seeking <br />reappointment for his term as a commissioner on the Authority. City Council directed staff to <br />advertise for the vacancy and staff scheduled a closing date of Friday, January 7, 2011. The City <br />of Hugo received a total of three applicants for the vacancy for the position on the EDA. <br />Council directed staff to schedule the EDA interviews for February 7, 2010 following the regular <br />Council meeting and invite one other member of the EDA to attend. <br />Update on the Yellow Ribbon Network (YRN) <br />Council Member Haas added this to the agenda to provide an update on the YRN. Sweet <br />Martha's Cookies has donated 10,000 cookies again this year to be sent to soldiers. Haas <br />requested anyone who knew of a soldier overseas to provide the YRN their APO (military <br />address) and they would send them cookies. Mayor Miron suggested Haas contact the Midwest <br />Dairy Association to inquire if they could donate milk. Haas also reminded the Council of the <br />YRN Hamburger Night on the fourth Wednesday of each month at the Hugo American Legion <br />where proceeds from hamburger sales go to the YRN. <br />Hugo Business Association Business Breakfast on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 <br />On Tuesday, February 15, 2011, the City of Hugo and the Hugo Business Association (HBA) <br />will be holding the 2nd Annual Business Networking Breakfast. The event will be held at Hugo <br />City Hall in the Oneka Room. A hot breakfast provided by Classic Cadillac Diner and <br />networking will start at 7:30 am with a speaker starting around 8:00 am. Stephen Kelly, a <br />marketing teacher from Century College, will be giving a presentation on "Marketing with Social <br />Media" free of charge as part of their community involvement program. There will be a $5.00 <br />fee for attendees to cover the cost of the food. <br />Weidt made motion, Haas seconded, to direct staff to notice February 15, 2011 as a Council <br />meeting to allow attendance of the Council at the Hugo Business Association 2nd Annual <br />Business Networking Breakfast. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />
