Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for April 18, 2011 <br />Page 8 of 9 <br />Report on Yellow Ribbon Network <br />Council Member Haas added this to the agenda to update the Council and public on the Yellow <br />Ribbon Network. The recipient of the first Minnesota Twins Outstanding Yellow Ribbon <br />Volunteer is Pete Orput for his volunteer work during the floods by organizing sandbagging <br />crews. He will be honored at the April 26, 2011 Minnesota Twin game. There was recently a <br />potluck dinner for a Hugo family who's member was recently deployed. There are eight Hugo <br />families with a National Guard member that is being deployed. Council also reminded Council <br />and the public of Hamburger Night at the Hugo American Legion on the fourth Wednesday of <br />each month from 5-8 p.m. <br />2011 LMC Annual Conference in Rochester on June 15-17, 2011 <br />The City of Hugo has been notified by the League of Minnesota Cities that it will hold its 87th <br />annual conference in Rochester on June 15-17, 2011. Staff recommended Council contact City <br />Clerk Michele Lindau should they want to attend the LMC Annual Conference. <br />Schedule City Administrator's Annual Performance Review <br />Mike Ericson was hired by the City of Hugo as its new City Administrator on April 17, 2000. <br />Over the past 11 years, the City of Hugo has conducted an annual performance review of the <br />City Administrator with himself, Council, and City Attorney David Snyder. <br />Miron made motion, Haas seconded, to tentatively schedule the City Administrator's <br />performance review following the second Council meeting in May or Thursday, May 26, 2011. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Report on 7th Annual Kidz -n -Biz Event on Saturday, April 16, 2011 <br />On Saturday, April 16, 2011, the City of Hugo in conjunction with The Citizen, Hugo Business <br />Association, and several local businesses cosponsored the 7th Annual Kidz -n -Biz Fest at the <br />Oneka Elementary School. City staff and Council who were in attendance reported on the 7th <br />Annual Event which was bigger and better than ever with more than 2000 attendees. Council <br />Member Weidt's daughter Abby won the Jr. Idol Contest, and Mayor Fran Miron indicated he <br />was impressed by the quality of the many talented junior performers. <br />Spring Cleanup Day Scheduled for April 23, 2011 <br />City Administrator Mike Ericson announced to the public the City of Hugo and Washington <br />County will host its annual Cleanup Day on Saturday, April 23, 2011 from 8 am — noon at the <br />Hugo Public Works Building. Hugo residents are encouraged to take advantage of this <br />opportunity to do their spring cleaning by bringing in their old household item as well as <br />hazardous household products for disposal. A complete list of accepted items can be found on <br />the City website or by contacting Hugo City Hall. <br />
