Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for August 1, 2011 <br />Page 7 of 7 <br />Manager Molly O'Rourke has informed the City of Hugo that it seeks participation from two <br />City officials as well as local business owners. City Administrator offered the names of Wilson <br />Tool CEO Brian Robinson and John and/or Joel Schwieter from Schwieter Companies to serve <br />as the business leaders in the community. <br />Miron made motion, Haas seconded, to designate Community Development Bryan Bear as the <br />City staff representative, and to direct the EDA to designate a member to serve on the Greater <br />MSP Economic Development Partnership. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Yellow Ribbon Network Report <br />Council Member Chuck Haas and Council Member Phil Klein reported to Council on the Yellow <br />Ribbon Network activities held recently. The July 27, 2011 Hamburger Night was sponsored by <br />WSB with a record setting 113 burgers sold. The next Hamburger Night will be on August 24, 2011 <br />and sponsored by the Hugo Lions. A Minnesota Military Family Golf Classic is being held on <br />Monday, August 5, 2011 at Tartan Park and on August 20th, the YMCA will host a pool party and <br />BBQ. <br />National Night Out on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 <br />City Administrator Mike Ericson provided a friendly reminder to the Council and residents that <br />the City of Hugo will be participating in the annual National Night Out, which is scheduled for <br />Tuesday, August 2, 2011. The purpose of National Night Out is to heighten crime and drug <br />prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in local anticrime programs, <br />strengthen neighborhoods and police -community partnerships and send a message to criminals <br />letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and paying attention to what is going on <br />around them. A number of neighborhood events will be held with attendance by the Hugo Fire <br />Department and City officials. The City Council is invited to meet at the Hugo Fire Department <br />at 6 p.m. to ride along with the Firefighters to these events. <br />Adjournment <br />Haas made motion, Weidt seconded, to adjourn at 8:12 p.m. <br />All Ayes.
