Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes January 3, 2011 <br />Page 3 of 9 <br />Approve Appointment of Acting Mayor <br />Each year, the Council appoints a member of the Council for the position of acting Mayor. <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved of the appointment of Councilmember Becky Petryk <br />as acting Mayor for the year 2011. <br />Approve Appointment of City Engineer <br />WSB Engineers has been the City Engineer for the past seven years. Jay Kennedy has handled <br />the day-to-day civil engineering duties, and Pete Willenbring continues as the water resource <br />engineer. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the appointment of Jay Kennedy as the <br />City Engineer for 2011. <br />Approve Appointment of City Planner <br />Kendra Lindahl from Landform has worked over the past nine years as the City planner, as <br />directed by CD Director Bryan Bear. Her primary focus for the past year has been on the 2030 <br />Comprehensive Plan and the Rice Lake Park Shelter. She reviews, advises, and recommends <br />changes on plats, as well as attending PC and Council meetings on an as needed basis. Adoption <br />of the Consent Agenda approved the appointment of Kendra Lindahl as the City Planner for the <br />year 2011. <br />Approve Appointment of City Attorney <br />City Attorney Dave Snyder and the law firm of Eckberg, Lammers, Wolff and Vierling have <br />served the City of Hugo very well over the past decade. Adoption of the Consent Agenda <br />approved the appointment of David K. Snyder and the Ekberg, Lammers Law Firm as the City <br />Attorney for the year 2011. <br />Approve Appointment of Financial Advisor <br />Financial advisors Paul Steinman, Mikaela Huot, and Nick Dragisich and the other members of <br />the Springsted, Inc. team have served the City over the past year on a wide variety of projects <br />and issues including the creation of the downtown TIF District. Adoption of the Consent <br />Agenda approved Paul Steinman, Mikaela Huot, and Nick Dragisich, from Springsted, Inc., as <br />the City's financial advisors for the year 2011. <br />Approve Appointment of Emergency Management Director <br />Each year, Council appoints a member of the City staff to serve in the role of Emergency <br />Management Director. For the past decade, the Fire Chief has served in this position. Adoption <br />of the Consent Agenda approved the appointment of Fire Chief Jim Compton as the City's <br />Emergency Management Director for 2011. <br />
