Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for November 21, 2011 <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />Approve Sale of Damaged 2008 Ford F550 Truck <br />Approve Re -appointment of David K. Snyder as City Attorney with the Law Offices of <br />Johnson and Turner, P.A. <br />Ayes: Haas, Klein, Petryk, Weidt. <br />Mayor Fran Miron abstained due to a conflict of interest with the appointment of the city <br />attorney. <br />Motion carried. <br />Approval of Claims <br />Adoption of the Consent agenda approved the Claims Roster as presented. <br />Approve Lease Agreement for Konica Minolta <br />For the past five years, the City has leased the workroom Cannon multi-purpose copier through <br />Loffler Companies. With the current lease expiring, staff has been working with several <br />companies to determine the best replacement. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the <br />60 -month lease agreement with Loffler Companies on a new Konica Minolta multi-purpose <br />copier. <br />Approve Resolution Recognizing for City Administrator Mike Ericson for his Eleven Years <br />of Public Service <br />At its November 7, 2011 meeting, the City Council approved the letter of resignation of City <br />Administrator Mike Ericson effective at the end of the day on November 21, 2011. Adoption of <br />the Consent Agenda approved RESOLUTION 2011-39 RECOGNIZING MICHAEL A. <br />ERICSON FOR HIS 11 YEARS OF PUBLIC SERVICE AS THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR <br />OF THE CITY OF HUGO, MINNESOTA <br />Approve Joint Powers Agreement for the Mass Emergency Communication System (a.k.a. <br />Code Red) <br />At its August 1, 2011 meeting, the Council discussed the Code Red system as proposed by <br />Washington County where mass notification would go out via telephone to alert residents and <br />business owners in the City who wish to be notified in the event of a natural disaster or County <br />identified emergency. The cost to participate in the program is based on the City of Hugo's <br />population, which would result in approximately $1,047 per year for the City of Hugo. Adoption <br />of the Consent Agenda approved the Joint Powers Agreement with Washington County to <br />participate in the Code Red Mass Emergency Communication System. <br />Approve Appointment of Rick Gwynn as Chair of Planning Commission <br />At its November 7, 2011 meeting, the City Council conducted interviews of Planning <br />Commissioners Bronwen Kleissler and Rick Gwynn for the chair position on the Commission <br />due to the retirement of long-term Chair Dave Schumann.
