Motion carried. 2009 Annual Building Department Report — Community Development Director Bryan Bear Annually, the Community Development Department prepares its Annual Building Department Report. Community Development Director Bryan presented the report highlighting the Planning Department and Building Department activities for the past year and the goals established for 2010. Bryan noted that residential construction in Hugo was slow, which is not unique to the rest of the country, and it is expected that 2010 will be similar to 2009. The City issued 147 residential building permits, which is down from 188 in 2008 but still very strong considering the economy and building activities in surrounding communities. New businesses continue to locate in Hugo; however, the only new commercial construction in 2009 was the P.A.W.S. Pet Hospital. The Planning Commission will be reviewing this Annual Report at their next meeting on Thursday, February 11, 2010. Miron made motion, Weidt seconded, to table this item to allow the Planning Commission to review the 2009 Building Department Annual Report and make a recommendation to the Council. All Ayes. Approval of Consent Agenda Weidt made motion, Klein seconded, to approve the following Consent Agenda: Approval of Claims Approve April 22, 2010 as Annual Board of Appeal & Equalization Meeting Approve Joint Powers Agreement With Washington County for Electronic Branch Library at Hugo City Hall Approve Property Line Adjustment for Xcel Energy at 15505 Forest Boulevard Approve Appointment of Tom Windisch, Kris Birch, and Matt Rauschendorfer as New Parks and Recreation Commissioners Approve Ordinance Amending Liquor License Ordinance and Fee Schedule Approve Ordinance Amending Tobacco License Ordinance and Fee Schedule Approve Award of Cleaning Contract for Public Works and Fire Hall Buildings All Ayes. Motion carried. Approval of Claims Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the Claims Roster as presented.
