City Council Meeting Minutes for June 7, 2010 <br />Page 9 of 9 <br />Report on Sarah's Daisy Dash 5K Fun Run held on June 5, 2010 <br />At its April 19, 2010 meeting, the Hugo City Council approved the Special Use Permit for the <br />first annual Sarah's Daisy Dash 5K Fun Run and half -mile Children's Lady Bug Run. The event <br />is in memory of Sarah Condon Mitzuk who was a very special person to many. The memorial <br />race is an effort for her friends and family to raise scholarship funds for her son Michael. City <br />Administrator Mike Ericson and City Engineer Jay Kennedy along with Parks and Recreation <br />Commission Chair Jim Taylor and their families participated in this family run. Councilmember <br />Tom Weidt explained his wife was a friend if Sarah's and participated in the race as well as 357 <br />other runners and 90 children participating in the Children's Lady Bug Race. Eleven thousand <br />dollars was raised for the Michael Mitzuk fund. Council discussed the possibility of making this <br />race part of the annual Good Neighbor Days event. <br />Miron made motion, Weidt seconded, to work with the race organizers to incorporate it as a <br />special event of the Hugo Good Neighbor Day. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Adjournment <br />Weidt made motion, Klein seconded, to adjourn at 9:18 p.m. <br />All Ayes.
