Pam stated one of the highlights was getting the necessary software to enter <br />and inventory old pictures. The Mayor presented her with a Certificate of Appreciation and <br />publically thanked her for her seven years of dedicated service to the citizens of Hugo. <br />Wilson Tool Assessment Agreement with City of Hugo — Duane Berg <br />The City of Hugo has worked with Wilson Tool International Company officials to prepare an <br />assessment agreement whereby Wilson Tool will donate $60,000 to the City for traffic signal <br />improvements at the intersection of TH61 and 130th Street North. City Engineer Jay Kennedy <br />stated the traffic signal should be operating within the next two weeks. Company official Duane <br />Berg was in attendance and stated the employees of Wilson Tool appreciated a safer intersection <br />to travel, and the company was happy to be a part of it. Fran Miron publically recognized and <br />thanked Duane and Wilson Tool for their generosity to the City of Hugo. <br />Briefing on Veteran's Court Initiative — Attorney Pete Orput <br />Councilmember Chuck Haas attended a recent Stillwater Lions meeting at which Attorney Pete <br />Orput made a presentation regarding the impact of veterans on the county court system after they <br />have served overseas in the wars. Councilmember Haas invited Attorney Pete Orput to the <br />meeting, and Pete made a presentation on the post traumatic stress syndrome soldiers face after <br />they have served overseas and mental health and substance abuse issues which land them in the <br />court system. Pete stated he worked in the Hennepin County Violent Crime Division, and he <br />talked about the need for and benefits of special courts, namely for veteran defendants with <br />mental health and/or substance abuse issues. The special court would consist of veterans who <br />have had similar experiences. Councilmember Chuck Haas and Pete talked about how it related <br />to the Yellow Ribbon Network (YRN) Task Force and named some of the community members <br />who were a part of the YRN including Barb Connelly, who was in the audience. The Mayor <br />directed staff to put contact information on the website, and City Administrator suggested the <br />Veteran's Court Initiative be a segment on the "That's Hugo Today" local cable show. <br />Approval of the Consent Agenda <br />Haas made motion, Weidt seconded, to approve the following Consent Agenda: <br />Approval of Claims <br />Approve Temporary Liquor License for St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church for Annual <br />Festival on August 22, 2010 <br />Approve Annual Performance Review for Public Works Mechanic Dave Greeder <br />Approve Annual Performance Review for Public Works Director Scott Anderson <br />Approve Annual Performance Review for Public Works Worker Mike Loeffler <br />Approve Pay Request No. 1 from Gencon Construction for Construction of Hanifl Fields Parks <br />Shelter <br />
