Hugo City Council Minutes for January 5, 2009 <br />Page 12 of 13 <br />Appoint Council Representative to Economic Development Authority (EDA) in 2009 <br />Due to the retirement of former Councilmember Mike Granger from the Hugo City Council in <br />2008, the Hugo City Council must select a member to serve as one of the two Council <br />representatives on the EDA. Mayor Fran Miron agreed to continue serving on the EDA as <br />president. With the resignation of Phil Klein as a citizen member and Mike Granger as the <br />Council representative, Council needed to select another member to serve on the EDA. <br />Miron made motion, Petryk seconded, to reappoint Mayor Fran Miron as the President of the <br />EDA and Councilmember Phil Klein as the Council representative on the EDA. <br />All ayes. Motion carried. <br />HealthEast Hugo Clinic Opening on January 14, 2009 <br />City Administrator Mike Ericson announced the HealthEast Hugo Clinic was holding an open <br />house on January 14, 2009 from 4-6 p.m. to celebrate the opening of their new clinic on Everton <br />Avenue. <br />Miron made motion, Petryk seconded, to schedule January 14, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. as a meeting to <br />allow Council attendance at the event. <br />All ayes. Motion carried. <br />Market Value Homestead Credit unallotment <br />Councilmember Haas added this item to the agenda and asked City Administrator Mike Ericson <br />to share information with the Council on the Market Value Homestead Credit. Due to the <br />necessary cuts to balance the state budget, Governor Tim Pawlenty announced that the City of <br />Hugo was unalloted $121,090, the second half of the 2008 Market Value Homestead Credit. <br />Haas asked that, due to the unallotment of these funds, City prepare and plan for the 2009 <br />projections with regard to the cut in the Market Value Homestead Credit. City Administrator <br />Mike Ericson reported that Finance Ron was preparing a report on this issue. <br />January 26, 2009 Washington County League of Local Governments Meeting <br />Annually, the Hugo City Council attends the Washington County League of Local Governments <br />Meeting which is to be held on the fourth Monday of January. In the past, Council has scheduled <br />the meeting as a public meeting in order to allow attendance participation by the Mayor and <br />Council members. <br />Petryk made motion, Weidt seconded, to schedule the January 26, 2009 Washington County <br />League of Local Governments Meeting as a public meeting in order to allow the attendance of all <br />members of the Hugo City Council. <br />All ayes. Motion carried. <br />
