Adoption of the Consent Agenda <br />approved the annual performance review for Public Works Worker Adam Greeder. <br />Approve Resignation of Hugo Firefighter Tim Lorinser <br />The City of Hugo has received a letter of resignation from Hugo Firefighter Tim Lorinser who is <br />unable to continue his employment with the City of Hugo due to changes in his family life. Tim <br />has been a part of the Hugo Fire Department since October 2003. Adoption of the Consent <br />Agenda approved the resignation of Firefighter Tim Lorinser from the Hugo Fire Department <br />and publicly thanked him for his six years of dedicated service to the citizens of Hugo. <br />Approve Resignation of Hugo Firefighter Bryan Lund <br />The City of Hugo has received a letter of resignation from Hugo Firefighter Bryan Lund who is <br />unable to continue his employment with the City of Hugo due to changes in his family life. <br />Bryan has been a part of the Hugo Fire Department since September 2001. Adoption of the <br />Consent Agenda approved the resignation of Firefighter Bryan Lund from the Hugo Fire <br />Department and publicly thanked him for his eight years of dedicated service to the citizens of <br />Hugo. <br />Approve Water Service Rates Schedule <br />At is February 2, 2009 meeting, the Hugo City Council, in response to a new state statute <br />requiring the use of water conservation rates, directed staff to review and recommend a <br />residential water rate structure that 1) changes the first 15,000 gallons of residential water usage <br />from a flat fee to a per unit cost, 2) applies the same methodology to the commercial/industrial <br />rate structure, and 3) is revenue neutral. The Finance Department drafted a proposed rate <br />schedule that met these criteria and submitted it to the Minnesota Department of Natural <br />Resources for review and comment. On September 22, 2009, the city received confirmation <br />from the DNR that this proposed rate schedule meets the requirement of a true conservation rate <br />as established by state statutes. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the new water rate <br />schedule. This rate structure will go into effect on January 1, 2010. <br />Approve Resignation of Hugo Parks Commissioner Russ Schmidt <br />The City of Hugo has received a letter of resignation from Hugo Parks Commissioner Russ <br />Schmitt who will soon move out of the City of Hugo. Russ has been a dedicated and committed <br />Commissioner on the Park and Recreation. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the <br />resignation of Parks Commissioner Russ Schmidt and publicly thanked him for his two years of <br />dedicated service. <br />Approve Controlled Burn of the Hansen House by the Fire Department on October 24, <br />2009 <br />At its August 3, 2009 meeting, the City Council unanimously voted to approve the purchase of <br />the Hansen property including 125 acres, a house, and several outbuildings. Staff was directed to <br />work with the Hugo Fire Department to inquire as to whether the house could be used by the <br />
