Hugo City Council Minutes for December 21, 2009 <br />Page 6 of 7 <br />Miron made motion, Weidt seconded, to support City Administrator Mike Ericson to be <br />nominated as a member on the Fire and Rescue Shared Services Task Force, and solicit a <br />recommendation from the Fire Chief as well for a Fire Department official. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />GFOA Award for Excellence in Financial Reporting - Finance Director Ron Otkin <br />Finance Director Ron Otkin has received notification from the Government Finance Officers <br />Association of the United States and Canada that he has earned his 16th Certificate of <br />Achievement for excellence in financial reporting. This certificate is the highest form of <br />recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a <br />significant accomplishment by a government and its management. A formal presentation will <br />take place next year when the plaque is received. <br />Washington County League of Local Governments Meeting on Thursday, January 28, 2010 <br />Annually, Washington County Board schedules a League of Local Governments meeting with all <br />elected officials in Washington County. Normally, the Washington County Board holds the <br />meeting in the fall but decided to move that meeting to January due to conflicting schedules. <br />Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to schedule Thursday, January 28, 2010 as a City Council <br />meeting to allow the attendance of the entire Hugo City Council at the Washington County <br />League of Local Government Meeting at the Prom Center. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />HBA Warm Hearts for Charity Event on January 16, 2010 at the Hugo American Legion <br />For the past two years, the Hugo Business Association (HBA) has held a charity fund raiser in <br />order to raise fund for charitable originations. The 3rd Annual Warm Hearts for Charity Wine <br />Tasting Event includes a live and silent auction allowing for participation from Hugo Business <br />Association Members and attendance from residents. <br />Weidt made motion, Petryk seconded, to notice Saturday, January 16, 2010 as a Hugo City <br />Council meeting to allow attendance at the HBA Warm Hearts for Charity Wine Tasting Event at <br />the Hugo American Legion at 5:00 p.m. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Yellow Ribbon Summit on January 5, 2010 at Century College <br />At its November 16, 2009 meeting, the Council scheduled January 5, 2010 as a Council <br />meeting to allow attendance to the Yellow Ribbon Summit where the Hugo Yellow Ribbon <br />Network will be recognized by Governor Tim Pawlenty at 1:45 p.m. The Community <br />
