Members of staff will be attending the meeting from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., prior <br />to the open house, to gather information and bring it back to the Council for review. No formal <br />action was taken. <br />I.4 REQUEST FROM ISD #624 TO PROVIDE LEADERSHIP PROFILE <br />INFORMATION FOR SELECTION OF REPLACEMENT FOR RETIRING <br />SUPERINTENDENT TED BLAESING <br />The City of Hugo has received an invitation to participate in providing leadership profile <br />information for the selection for the replacement for ISD #624 Superintendent Ted Blaesing who <br />has announced his retirement from the White Bear Lake School District effective June 2008. <br />City Staff requested direction from Council as to its interest in providing this information to the <br />executive search firm selected by the White Bear Lake School Board for the purpose of hiring <br />the new superintendent for the retiring Ted Blaesing. The Mayor stated he was comfortable with <br />City staff completing the Leadership Profile Assessment for the White Bear Lake School District <br />for the replacement of Superintendent Ted Blaesing. No formal action was taken. <br />RESIDENT INQUIRY ON SPEED LIMIT SIGN REQUIREMENTS <br />Council Member Petryk had received a phone call from resident Michael Warner who <br />questioned how speed limits were set, specifically why the speed limit on the new county road <br />(CSAH 8) was 50 mph and there was a much lower speed limit on Highway 61. City Engineer <br />Jay Kennedy explained that MN DOT Commissioner of Transportation sets speed limits for the <br />most part, and the City has limited ability to set speed limits lower than 30 mph. He stated that if <br />Council was concerned, they could request MN DOT or Washington County review speed limits <br />on the roads with specific concerns. <br />DISCUSSION ON FEBRUARY 81H- ONEKA ELEMENTARY PTA GOLD PLATE <br />DINNER AT HUGO AMERICAN LEGION <br />The City of Hugo has been invited to attend the Oneka Elementary PTA Gold Plate Dinner <br />scheduled for Friday February 8, 2008 at the Hugo American Legion. As Council is aware, this <br />is the third annual Gold Plate Dinner, which is a fund raising opportunity for the PTA to raise <br />donations for the purchase of playground equipment for Oneka Elementary School. On behalf of <br />the PTA, City Administrator Mike Ericson invited the Council and public to participate in this <br />worthwhile community fundraising event. <br />JANUARY 261H- HBA WARM HEARTS FOR CHARITIES WINE TASTING EVENT <br />AT THE HUGO AMERICAN LEGION <br />The City of Hugo has been invited to participate in the Hugo Business Association Warm Hearts <br />for Charities Wine Tasting Event scheduled for Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the Hugo <br />American Legion at 5:00 p.m. This fund raising event sponsored by the Hugo Business <br />Association and Rick's Liquor will provide a variety of wine which can be sampled by attendees <br />along with a special silent auction all for the purpose of raising donations for a variety of <br />charities sponsored by members of the Hugo Business Association. On behalf of the Hugo <br />Business Association, City Administrator Mike Ericson invited the Hugo City Council and <br />
